And let's not forget David Brooks' fawning over Portman for veep, for McCain. Ugh.
Here's what the establishment as a whole has to say:
Republican Insiders Have A Favorite For Veep: Senator Rob Portman Listen to what these people are saying!
"He's not going to be Palin hes not going to be fighting to get in front of cameras, ," he one Midwestern committeeman.
I will always oppose the big wigs and powerbrokers of the GOP-E!!! Say no to Portman!
And you will always be a little man who thinks himself larger when he runs down others.
Who would you have us nominate, Stanley Flackmann?
Here are Republican Senator Rob Portmans positions on some very important issues:
Please go to this site: http://www.ontheissues.org/oh/rob_portman.htm
Please read Portman’s positions on Immigration — he is for WIDE OPEN borders.
Here more info on his immigration views: http://www.numbersusa.com/content/my/congress/623/reportcard/CAREER/
Portman voted in favor of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 — read about the Act here: http://www.heritage.org/research/education/bg1775.cfm
These statements are taken from the Health Care section of http://www.ontheissues.org/oh/rob_portman.htm: Voted YES on limited prescription drug benefit for Medicare recipients. (Nov 2003) He voted NO on allowing reimportation of prescription drugs. (Jul 2003)
Portman is a free trader like Bush.
This statement is taken from the Energy and Oil section of http://www.ontheissues.org/oh/rob_portman.htm: He voted YES on starting implementation of Kyoto Protocol. (Jun 2000)
These statements are from the Foreign Policy section of http://www.ontheissues.org/oh/rob_portman.htm: Voted NO on keeping Cuba travel ban until political prisoners released. (Jul 2001) He voted YES on Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China. (May 2000)
Please read the Free Trade section.
IMHO, Portman is a high priest of the economic theocracy that places the needs of multinational corporations over the needs of AMERICANS. If the Chinese could vote, he would win any office he wants by a landslide.
If Rob Portman came to my front door, I would not recognize him, and I am a total political junkie. All I know is his name, that he is Republican Senator from Ohio, and establishment types that go to governors conferences like to have breakfast with him.
That’s it, that’s all. I knew more about “out of the blue” Palin that I do about this guy.
Sarah Palin fighting to get in front of the cameras?
The way I remember it, Sarah was criss-crossing America during the 2008 campaign, busting her butt for the lackluster (at best) McCain.
While Sarah was working hard, McCain was in the upper Midwest telling crowds they had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency. Pathetic.
Not only will it be a likely RINO-RINO ticket, but a BORING and UNISPIRING ONE.
Designated Losers.
Bob who?
