Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sens. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn.; Gov. Mitch Daniels, R-Ind.

THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine; Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.; Axelrod; Cummings.
Ah - probably wishful thinking:-) A pretty dismal lineup today.
I left you a note in Freepmail.
Levin is the best. ; )
"Trouble" defined as not following the script...as I said, this should be labeled a "caucus" thread as a warning to anyone who may wander in with the false impression that the SMTT is on an open forum.
I have a comment...probably 90% of FReepers decry the fact that the press nor anyone else vetted Obama...yet, over and over I see posts decrying any vetting of Romney. He isn't the nominee yet, and anything that is detrimental to him will be blasted out 1000-fold by the media if he becomes the nominee.
Good luck on the censorship then.
“Hey newbie AB has been here for years he does not have to prove he is not a liberal! You on the other hand could be anyone for all we know.”
I am the Son of Satan.
I’m adopted. It’s possible.
;^)
Mark my words, and this post, so I can someday say “I knew it all along.”
What in the name of all goodness is asking someone not to come with the intent to cause trouble do you not understand?
Did I say I owned anything here?
You absolutely misrepresent me. I have shame for you.
You dare say you liked to come to this thread because it had enlightened conversation, YET, others coming onto the thread to start trouble are somehow people you are going to defend and attack me about it?
Let me tell you, when people seek to get others banned or reported to the boss, that does NOT reek of enlightened conversation, that reeks of trouble making.
The biggest problem I have is not that people disagree or even argue, but rather we’ve found a fault line over Romney, that some will actually want other FReepers banned over because they didn’t join the daily hatred song against him.
Not one of the regular posters here are Romney supporters. I, Rod, Altura, Miss Marple, Bray, Kabar, Morgan in Denver, Rocklobster, Fishtalk, and all the rest have supported OTHER candidates only to see them either not take the flag or lose.
We CAN argue the fact that Obama is worse than Romney, but to ban people for thinking so, or cussing them out, or belittling them as Romneybots is just, well, unfair and unwanted by most here.
WE try hard to avoid that here.... As you said, enlightened conversation. Can you argue your points without accusing me of such nonsense?
You absolutely are wrong to even think this was a desire to make this a closed or caucus thread—no way, no how...
I ask others to tell me if that’s what they think I was getting on about.
Please stop the melodrama.
No one is asking for censorship.
I said the trouble making was not posting anything about Romney but arguing and then running to the boss to get someone in trouble.
I asked Diogensis, humbly so as well. I can make no demands. Diogenis knows this, and if you noted, stopped. Not because I demanded, but because I asked. Asking is not censorship.
This will be the last I will say on this Greyfoxx39, but if you are reading into my simple request for peace into a support for Romney than that is a terrible misrepresntation of what went on.
Once again, no one here I know of is “for” Romney. Many of us are, however, deeply opposed to Obama.
Can we argue that without bitterness and anger here?
Diogenesis, please forgive me for messing up your name. Also, do note that you are welcome here. I only speak for myself, obviously.
I hope we all can still be conservative allies despite the misfortune that these times have given us. I really, truly do.
Please! Don’t stop Alas.. we all suffer your frustration as well, I literally would not have survived the past four years without this thread.
Don’t give up!!
Dio has a visceral hate for Milt...just ignore.
Keep on keeping on!
This thread IS very much an open forum, GF.
Very few have ever been reported, much less banned or had comments removed from this thread.
AB is reliable, fair and even handed. He’s dependable and guides the thread by mostly not inserting himself into the arguments.
I’m just not sure why you’re saying this is a closed caucus thread when it’s anything but. For a few months one year we even set up a contest that had us judging who had the best posts and giving e-ribbons....AB has a ping list and invites all to join.
Stay around and by all means join in. Very few here are going to defend Romney if that’s your concern. Sometimes we even talk about the Sunday talk shows.
You replied to Diogenesis' Post #67 with a request that he "not come onto this thread with the intent to cause trouble."
I see nothing in post 67 other than facts about Romney. I fail to see where that is "causing trouble", and if you are going to declare posting rules on your thread over and above the normal FR rules, there should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the thread.
Mind-reading another FReeper and accusing them of "attempting to get others banned" with no proof of such is tantamount to casting shame on other FReepers for "misrepresenting" you....oh wait.
To quote you, "but to ban people for thinking so, or cussing them out, or belittling them as Romneybots is just, well, unfair and unwanted by most here."
Go back through the thread and read the comments made to Diogenisis by the "regulars". Belittling and piling on seems to be an appropriate descripton of the sentiments toward him for daring to post comments that are don't fit the thread template.
You state, "WE try hard to avoid that here"... This is your territory, and now others are aware to give it a wide berth as I have for several years.
One note...there have been posts on this thread regarding the low number of posts compared to the past. Perhaps there is a reason for it.
Whoever AB is, I’m pretty damn certain after calling me a n00b liar, that THIS was sent to me by mistake...heads up

I believe hell be running to JimRob soon. Hes seriously misrepresenting what Im saying, and we KNOW JimRob often doesnt think deliberately, but rather reacts. Did I fulfill your expectations?
I have stopped posting here because my opinions often differ from the majority. I have been spending my FR time working against Romney since 2008 and the treatment Diogenesis has received here today is probably mild considering what mine might be since I am called to alert others to the truths of mormonism.
I always look for your posts, and as a former Republican PC, enjoy your tales of Sussex county.
I may continue to read the Talk Show Thread, but maybe not. I can always access your posting history for your wit and wisdom.
Greyfoxx! All this time, I never knew you were a kitty!
I respect you even more for the time it must take to type all those articles with those teeny weeny little paws ;^)
“I basically stopped watching when FOX pooh-poohed Palin in 2008 and said all kinds of nice things about Obama.”
I believe that is because FOX was told to toe the line or Murdock would be fried for his England mistakes.
JMHO
PLease don’s stop posting this thread, as a long time lurker and sometimes poster its my every sunday read
“People can only form opinions based on what they know. And if they are busy in their lives and they only catch a shallow impression of things while swamped with the responsibilities of life, that hasty impression is all they have to go on. For them, that is reality . even when they are absolutely wrong.”
Agree whole-hartedly. Which is why my “perception” of the american voting public would not allow me to get excited about any candidate who would not meet the dumbed down criteria.. . . . too distracted, uninformed, uninterested and easily media manipulated. (Despite, btw, personally being much more aligned with Santorum or Gincrich ) Many on this forum who dared say that, like me, were instantly branded as a troll, commie, RINO, etc.
Someone on this thread said that posts seem to be down here. Maybe that’s because those of us who love this country as much as most of you do (but have a different approach to winning in November) have been made unwelcome in no uncertain terms.
This great nation cannot take another 4 years of Obama madness, and supporting a candidate who wouldn’t be able to win with the above electorate seemed like a fantasy from day one. Reality should come into focus really quickly to anyone who lives and works in this country today. The votes for a pure conservative are just not there. Just look around. Sad, yes, but REAL.
The comparisons between Romney, and Dole, McCain, etc as candidates has been nothing short of ridiculous. The latter were the most horrid picks, but losing had nothing to do with their moderate views. No. The thing so many don’t understand is that elections are not won on policy alone. Dole & McCain had NO persona, NO energy, NO connection to the young voter, and they were both running against uber charisma plus candidates. Both those races were over before they began. Getting a good read on the electorate (which we stink at, but the Dems do so well) is more important than choosing a candidate based on policy alone, unfortunately. Those of us who got that from the beginning have been tarred and feathered here over and over again.
