I expect soldiers to hurt people (and do more than that). The Military should be used to kill people and break things. If you don’t want people hurt, don’t ask soldiers to play a role in the activity.
So you’re saying that soldiers are incapable of doing wrong, or that it’s wrong to assign soldiers to police duty, because they’ll kill somebody? Has anyone looked at Col. Sholem Eisner? He’s a reservist if ever there was one. Stomach out to there, probably couldn’t run a mile in four hours, let alone four minutes. This is not a professional soldier, but a reservist. Policing these podunk demonstrations is what reservists do, so if Eisner can’t handle it, maybe Gantz had the right idea. But what interests me here is the facts. Did he just lose it and start swinging at people, or was he retaliating against an assault? How does one swing an M16 with a broken finger? Which finger was broken, and how long before he chinned the Dane? What was that guy saying in Arabic? What does the film editing tell us? Come on, guys. Where are all the knowledgeable people suddenly?
