CARSON CITY The Clark County School District will receive a $16 million federal grant to help improve students reading and writing skills.
The money will be used over two years to hire additional teachers, said Colin Usher, project manager for the grant at the state Department of Education. It will also be used for training and purchases of such things as iPads and books, he said.

If I ran a school system....I’d have a iron-clad rule...no computers in the school until after the 8th grade. I would not want any homework done on a computer throughout the entire twelve years.

And compared to today's “professional writers” it doesn't look like i-pads and computers have done a better job.
