Martin punched Zimmerman, knocking him down. Zimmerman told police that when he was on the ground, Martin straddled him, striking him, and then tried to smother him, wrote Beast reporter Aram Roston.
That was when Zimmerman said he shouted for help, explained the source. Some of Martins advocates have insisted it was actually the teenager who was heard shouting on a 911 call made from within earshot of the scene.
Zimmerman claimed that it wasnt until Martin noticed the 9mm pistol holstered to Zimmermans waist that the older man grabbed it and shot Martin.
Okay, you got it, Martin reportedly said twice before falling back.

Totally agree. Trayvon was not the worst kid around by a long chalk (even with the additional info coming out), and George was not some wannabe gunslinging cop, but a guy looking out for his neighborhood and all the people in it.
To paraphrase Speaker Gingrich - “Color doesn’t matter. None of our children should live in fear.”
Like I said, 17 year olds are not exactly known for being rational in their responses, they are all hormones and a total belief in their own immortality.
I admire Zimmerman for not shooting for as long as he did. I’d not have waited that long with someone younger, faster and bigger sitting on me and banging my head on the sidewalk.
When we started the Neighborhood watch scheme here, we decided to go none confrontational. You see a person, you don’t follow silently, you chat with them. Walk fast, catch up to them and talk. It is a slightly increased risk for us, yes, but it defuses most situations before they start.
Peace to you!
That sounds like a good policy. Take care.
Also, not living where thugs walk through your neighborhood.
I am sooooo glad I left the city. For both this and the hoped-for presidential election results.
If you think about it, 9mm has killed more human beings than any other pistol caliber.
Think MP 38/40.
Angela Corey...
I hope this travesty destroys the career of this piece of excrement.
I carry a KelTec Model P11 on a daily basis. I trust my life and my family’s safety to it.
Any gun is only as good as the owner as far as shooting ability and good maintenance practices.
BTW, the KelTec P11 is VERY popular with law enforcement as back-up and off-duty carry weapons.
Is that the standard paint on the rear sight or did you enhance it a bit?
You can buy them online. They are called backplates. It took about 1 minute to change it (with a ball point pen). I got my wife a ‘Come and Take it” with a tiny cannon on it and I got my brother a custom one with the logo for his rock band. They are about $20 each.
You know, you might be on to something..
The rear sights on my KT and CZ are dots. That one looks like you could acquire sight picture much faster.
Is that what they teach you when you take your concealed carry course???
You mean the sight paint. This is a tactical 9 Model 34. I’m really not that fancy- all the rest of our guns are standard issue. It has all kinds of extras. Adjustable sights, bright sights, a proud clip release, elongated barrel and a picatiny rail.
I stopped to look at a 9 mil pistol in Dec 08. The gun shop was loaded on a wednesday afternoon. I had to wait in line to look at a pistol. When I got my turn, I asked to see all the glock 9 mils. He said I only have one left. It was this one.
As I was filling out the paperwork, I asked how long they had been this busy- he said “ever since election day”.
