As for Neil Heywood, it is very stupid of him to demand bigger cut from stashed fund in return for moving it offshore and manage it, making threat that he will expose it if he does not have his way.
Bo's are not people you can jerk around. I suspect there are many people like Neil Heywood, foreigners with great connection to powerful Chinese figures. It is good for their health that they should not jerk their Chinese patrons around. I am surprised at Heywood's sheer lapse of judgement.

The dog leader’s name in this affair is, please note, Bo! (there’s also a Mrs Bo.)

Gu Kailai is said to have had a hard life in her early life. Her family were all purged and sent countryside during Cultural Revolution. She was just an elementary school kid when it happened. She was left alone in Beijing. She had to survive on her own. She dropped out of middle school, and started working. As a hairdresser, and then a cook. She was said to be great with her hand, especially when it comes to chopping meat. It was so good that people used to gather around her and marvel at her skill. This continued until Mao's era ended and his family were finally reinstated.
You can push around a person like this. She is a tough survivor.

Everyone is worried about the Bo in the White House becoming dinner, but this guy might be ending that way too.

This will expand beyond a “criminal investigation” into a purge and revenge. Divving up the loot (and there is a lot of loot) will encourage even more betrayals and revenge. Is there a leader who can manage to contain/control all this?

I think it should be remembered, Bo Xilai was/is a very strict and devoted Maoist.
Temper our thoughts and words with this fact.

Agreed.
I’m pretty much astonished, if even a quarter of what is being alleged, actually was happening.
I mean, one simply does not do such things. I’ll not get too specific, but what in the world, was he thinking??
You don’t tug on Superman’s cape.
You don’t spit, into the wind.
You don’t pull, the mask off of the Lone Ranger.
And you most certainly do not. Even. Consider ...
That.
Good grief.

a billionaire who heads the Dalian Shide industrial conglomerate. The 41-year-old has not been seen at the company since mid-March. I just think this is funny. Billionaires just disappear all the time! Nothing to see here!
If anyone wants to understand Chinese politics, just think of the Clintons in charge, and imagine that the USA was controlled by the Democrat party for the last 60 years

There are reports Heywood is associated with the same British firm -Hakluyt?- as Steven Halper and the folks who tried to set up Trump associates.
