In a move that serves as a significant blow to "ex-gay" programs and anti-gay organizations, Dr. Robert Spitzer repudiated his much-criticized 2001 study that claimed some "highly motivated" homosexuals could go from gay to straight. His retraction occurred in an American Prospect magazine article that hit newsstands today. Spitzer's rejection of his own research, which was originally published in the prestigious Archives of Sexual Behavior, is a devastating blow to "ex-gay" organizations because it decisively eliminates their most potent claim that homosexuality can be reversed through therapy and prayer.

Gay or straight is an intellectual decision.
Masculine or Feminine attraction is the dominating factor for attraction. If it is intellectually unacceptable for a feminine man to be with a masculine man in a gay relationship, he will merely search for a masculine woman.
Even in gay relationships you will almost always find one dominant masculine and one dominate feminine personality. I say almost always as I have found one relationship where two masculine women formed a relationship and adopted a daughter. The lack of balance between the parents has really screwed up the daughter. The masculine aspect of consciousness does not feel the presence of love, it observes actions and makes conclusions as to what the feeling should be. It does however recognize the absence of love or emptiness feeling when it is removed. The feminine recognizes the feeling of the presence of love. All this is a function of how the two aspects of consciousness store, process and retrieve memories. The end result was that the daughter with two masculine mothers had virtually no bonding foundation which happens between the young child and the feminine parent.
I work quite a bit with gays and lesbians in psychological testing of development and can usually identify the point in their life where the became gay. It is caused by a shift in consciousness patterns and is easy to demonstrate, even in a scientific setting. I don’t judge anyone, I just help them understand why!

As people age, they tend to shift to more gender neutral, just as a young child is prior to puberty. In old age it is normal for men to become more feminine and women to become more masculine... Just look at Helen Thomas! Humor intended!

Sorry for being a buttinski....the political homosexual agenda is not about alternative sex, it's about undermining religion. Commies hate religion because big government does not like the competition of any large organizations. If homosexual mores can be forced by government, religion loses control and cred.

I just took a look at the posting history, and it is kind of odd. Not quite like that guy that used to come on and post about trains all the time, or the guy who had the thing about pit bull attacks, though.
If you want to read some really interesting research on this topic, read about the genetic modifications to the VNO or vomeronasal organ in rats. If reversed their gender behaviors and caused the females to exhibit humping behavior and the males to become nurturing feminine. The VNO is the receptor organ in the nose for pheromones.
So homosexuality is now shown to be an incurable disease. But we didn’t give up on cancer.
Yeah but this whole thing is premised on “That’s just the way they are.” If it’s genetics then how’s it happening with men that were perfectly capable of fathering children, and now they’re homosexual? Or moms that family lawyers will say they’re seeing more leaving marriages for same sex partners? I don’t think so. While there are those that one can readily tell were “Born that way” there are many more who choose that “orientation” because they hate their ex, they hate the other gender, they can’t get a date, they can’t get laid, they want the easy way out.
I don’t know what you mean by “scientific advance” but I will guess you mean “scientific advancement”.
And this article has nothing to do with the advancement of science.
Where in that article is there anything at all that has to do with science other than the fraudulent sounding guy with “Dr.” in front of his name?
I really am curious.
I don’t care about the study in the least. I have personal experience and know several homosexuals who have changed and gone on to lead happily straight lives.

The homosexual lobby has a vested interest in convincing society that their “condition” is genetic, and that they have no control over it.
If they have no control over it, then that opens a lot of doors, doesn’t it?
It is no coincidence that they constantly try to frame it in the context of the Civil Rights movement, where people were oppressed because of something that was genetic and they had no control over.
It’s not “That’s just the way they are. It’s not genetic. Although there might be a genetic predisposition, the prevailing factor is consciousness patterns and shifts between masculine and feminine aspects. These directly influence hormone production and influence the behavior patterns. The mannerisms associated with a feminine gay man are a function of their consciousness pattern changes influencing personality development which influences biochemistry. The feedback reinforcement mechanism causes a reverse influence as well.
