Following rocker Ted Nugent's recent comments about President Barack Obama, he has been dropped from a scheduled performance at Fort Knox, the post announced Thursday afternoon.
Nugent set off a controversy at last weekend's National Rifle Association convention when he criticized high-ranking members of Obama's administration and offered support for possible Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
In a video posted on YouTube by the NRA, Nugent said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year. If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
He also suggested members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state were "criminals."
Army Entertainment and the Fort Knox Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation are committed to carrying out the concert, according to a news release. REO Speedwagon and Styx remain scheduled to perform as part of the post's annual summer concert June 23. The possibility exists that a replacement will be selected, post officials said.
What!? Well I’ll be...
It was the home, for nearly seventy years (1940-2010), of the U.S. Army Armor Center, the U.S. Army Armor School (now at Fort Benning),
Nugent set off a controversy at last weekend's National Rifle Association convention when he criticized high-ranking members of Obama's administration and offered support for possible Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
maybe you’ve hit it on the “head” so to speak about the sucking...
There's plenty of ultra-liberal suck-up celebrities to fill the void. Ted Nugent is now an American icon (representing the 75% of us that aren't Obamabots and who absolutely positively LOVE America, the US Constitution and The Rule of Law). Like Rush Limbaugh, he's a hero speaking words that cause liberals heads to explode.
I am assuming that a good chunk of the active military shares Ted`s opinion of Barry
these words will be saved....and they will be used against you every time you come around bitchin and moaning about bamey....
shame on you.....quite pathetic....
0bama must’ve made a phone call.
You are a freak.
Ted should have a free concert at the same time on the same day at a venue that is as close to the front gate of Fort Knox as he can get. Then offer free transport from the front gate to the venue and back after the concert.
Megadeth or Korn would be a good replacement. Hehehe.. Oh wait, they’ve bashed 0bama too!
Barry and Rimshot Joe have sent their wives out trying to suck in the military vote. I don’t think this is going to help. Military types love Ted and they know why he won’t be playing a concert.
A collection of bars around Fort Knox ought to contact Nugent and arrange an off-base gig. I bet attendance would be hugh with series comments about base commander attitudes.
I'm confused.
Why is it when a “conservative” says something that uses metaphor to make a point “controversial”?
When Libs do it they call it free speech. Even if Ted says he'd like to kill Obama, how is it that is “bad” when the left for the 8 years of W Bush did the same?
The Left are the true segregationist.
I agree with his comments completely, except the dying part...
Or one of his many minions. This stinks to high heaven, but being as it is military, the truth will be tightly held.
“Nugent should hold a concert off-site and see who gets the bigger gate.”
Great idea.
Fwiw, I did Basic at Knox in 75.
I'd share a foxhole with Nugent, but not 0bama.
5.56mm
Your right....lets go after Rush and Ted for their comments but allow our "brothers" to say and do what they want with no consequences (Think the bounty the New Black Panthers put on Zimmermans' head)
I'm getting to the point that I don't care anymore if someone calls me a racist...I'm sick of these people
Mr Roboto ain't gonna cut it.
