The Obama administration has proposed tighter restrictions on carbon dioxide emissions which critics believe will discourage construction of new coal power plants. Several states that rely heavily on the coal industry are challenging the new rules, but a majority of voters nationwide favor them. Most recognize, however, that the new rules will drive up energy costs.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows that 53% favor new environmental regulations that place stricter limits on carbon dioxide emissions from new power plants. Twenty-nine percent (29%) oppose the new regulations, and 18% are not sure about them.

Global Warming is on the way out but it is being replaced with Global Slavery.
“Most” respond to polls like this based on their feelings, then will bitch and whine when their electric bill goes up by 20% and demand that the government force the power companies to cut prices. “Most” don’t understand economics and how costs get passed on, and how there is no free lunch.

And that’s why we, as a Nation, are skrood......
We’ll check back with them after a winter of thermostats set at 52 degrees...
America has been brainwashed!
Phone polls of this nature are totally useless. The people contacted by the pollsters via phone are generally pretty ignorant about carbon dioxide, and likely the questions about coal-fired plants conjure up pictures in the respondents’ minds of smokestacks spewing clouds of black smoke. Thus they don’t have an informed response.
As for why people think what they do: If you tell a lie long enough and loud enough people believe it.
Rassmussen Poll
....Americans Favor 20% Increase In Electric Bills
In a poll on utility bills 10,000 Grammar School students were asked if they would prefer paying 20% more for their electric bill rather than pollute and create global warming by CO2 exhialents from coal fired power generation.
The same 52% who voted for 0bummer&Co in 2008, plus an additional nutso 1%. We’re screwed.
Uncle, I think you’ve nailed it.
Don't forget: "and you may lose your job."
Um, how is the poll "totally useless"? I agree that the public is almost completely ignorant about the issue. I agree that the poll question likely conjures up images of dirty smokestacks. But how does that make the respondents any different than how voters think and cast ballots? Rasmussen uses a likely voter screen. These ARE likely voters and this is what they think. The poll is very useful. It tells people like us, other conservatives and any sane person who cares about this policy question, that the public is gullible on the issue of coal and we have our work cut out for us.
“......But Recognize Energy Will Cost More”
That is one humongous crock! The money has already been spent.....BILLIONS.....by the coal industry itself....to improve their product.
(Zero announced his intention to destroy the coal industry, so it’s a lead pipe cinch they never got any stimulus money).
Now that they’ve improved their product, all we need to do is USE it, preserving and creating jobs, and relieving pressure from the oil resources.
And....slap me upside the head....Warren Buffet, the old political ho from Omaha, will make more millions HAULING coal all over the Country on his railroad!
Are you saying that America has been given a collective enema!
Morally decadent dumbasses should stay home this November, since they don't have a problem making war on the poor with increased energy prices. Imbeciles.
Most Americans Link Global Warming to Weather Madness
Global Warming on Free Republic
20% more?? LoL. Try 20X more. The global socialist emissions targets for CO2 requires that we reduce to practically zero in a decade or two. Of course in theory the 20X overpayment for heat and gasoline would be rebated back (with a big chunk taken out by the politicians). But woe to the person who actually needs more (lives in an old house, runs a pizzeria, commutes a long distance, etc etc) They will be impoverished.
That's what she sa... Oh, never mind. Thought it said something else for a sec.
