He attended Punahou on a scholarship, through the generosity of many donors, and the influence of Stanley Armour's boss, who was a Punahou alum. Obama walked the five blocks from his grandmother's apartment on Beretania to the school.

With more than 3,000 students, Punahou is the largest private school in the country, and it sits on a lush, sprawling campus in Honolulu. The school is elite and wealthy.

Typical white granny's bank boss was on the board of Punahou so he had it made scholarshipwise.

Guess what parking lot he had to walk through between home and school every day? The Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children. Yep, he walked past this hospital every day yet can't remember which of the two hospitals he was born at. As if his typical white granny wouldn't have stopped one day on the way to the grocery to buy him a piece of fruit and say, "Look, Barry, that's the room where you were born!"
