CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama insisted Thursday that without government spending, “Google, Facebook would not exist.”
Obama made the remark at a campaign fundraiser while criticizing the budget passed by House Republicans. Obama said the Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget would, among other things, cut funding for research.
“I believe in investing in basic research and science because I understand that all these extraordinary companies that are these enormous wealth-generators -- many of them would have never been there; Google, Facebook would not exist, had it not been for investments that we made as a country in basic science and research,” Obama said. “I understand that makes us all better off.”
Obama said Ryan’s budget would gut “an advanced, responsible society.”

Whether or not this is actually true, I seriously would not shed a single tear if facebook or google did not exist.

According to Obama/communist thinking, the next logical step is that gubmint OWNs google and facebook, shareholders be damned. His gubmint can take a cut anyway he wants, you peons should be glad of the leftover shavings and the generous president doesn’t take all.
The revenue Obama’s government continues to confiscate/suck off these two companies would not exist, either.

Many of today’s technical marvels have their roots in the US space program, now virtually killed by Obama. Consider the I-Pad, would some government design bureau ever have created such a new innovation in technology? Why did Steve Jobs push for the I-Pad...the answer is quite simple...to make money. Imagine if computer development were in the hands of the government. Under government leadership in 2012 we would barely be beyond the Intel Pentium CPU, still be working in Windows 3.11 and the Internet would be a decade off.

I watched The Social Network. I do not recall the continuing presence of the benevolent government bueraucrats shepherding Mark Zuckerberg during the development of Facebook. Maybe I missed it?

I have to think that the folks who write the speeches don’t like him and he’s too stupid to do anything more than recite what is on the screen. They must have a great time making him look like a horses-ass.

Ah, but if the Bamster had had his way with the military budget thirty years ago, DARPA would have been cut and there would be no Internet.
In all likelihood he’s telling the truth and is accurate. However, what I think happened here is he is so stupid he just accidentally admitted something I know I and many others have thought for a long time...that Facebook is a CIA creation to build databases on everyone.
So I actually believe him when he says that, but think he’s so dumb he has no idea what he just admitted.
