Barack Obama's bodyguards sent home from Colombia summit amid prostitution [drinking] allegations

Reports suggested that the misconduct involved prostitutes in Cartagena, site of the Summit of the Americas. A Secret Service spokesman did not dispute that.

A US official said 12 officials were sent home. The agents were staying at Cartagena's Hotel Caribe, which is also hosting members of the White House staff and press corps during the summit

A hotel employee said the agents arrived at the beachfront hotel about a week ago, and claimed they were drinking heavily during their stay.

The employee said the agents left the hotel Thursday, a day before Obama and other regional leaders arrived for the weekend summit.

The Washington Post reported that Jon Adler, president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, said the accusations related to at least one agent having involvement with prostitutes in Cartagena. The association represents federal law enforcement officers, including the Secret Service.

My gut instinct tells me the same thing. Sounds like a good excuse to fire and ruin a bunch of insiders who will be replaced by “friendlies.” I hate thinking this way, but just look to history... this kind of thing has been done by dictators all down the line.

Has government become such a joke that now even some members of the Secret Service apparently have reduced the Presidential travel to to little more than a sophomoric spring break? I’d expect this sort of thing from most federal agencies — GSA currently comes to mind — but the Secret Service?

I’m not much of a drinker, but if I had to protect a Marxist with my life I’d get drunk too!

There's something else going on here. Something not being told and that 12 SS agents must know. These men have always been considered to be the most upstanding, loyal, dedicated group of men who don't shirk their duty, don't take chances or risks about anything, and who remain out of the spotlight of anything that might bring attention to them.

For some reason these 12 agents agreed to act in a very unprofessional manner, and all at the same time. This just does not sound as though it was by accident.

Maybe they were just sick and tired of protecting a man who showed such disdain for them, and for whom they could no longer hold respect. So, in unison, they took a fall...and got out. I can't help being suspicious as to why this took place and so many were part of this.

You know, I was thinking the same. I just found it not something I was ready to believe as it’s written. *Doubt* kept coming to me.

And they are!! I agree something is way off here, that was my first thought when I read it.

Smile..I think it’s more sinister, I believe he cannot trust the secret service to back him in a coup...he must get some “trustworthy” folks around him, like Islamic pukes, and Black panthers to take over....
