In these last hours of relative freedom, I feel it my duty to express the fundamentals of just what we're all arguing about here. The basics are all outlined in our Declaration, and in our Constitution, as well as the voluminous writings of the Framers. What more can I add to those words of timeless wisdom?
Lord help the American people rediscover the correct path to real freedom.
It takes courage to stand in the face of fear when both Obama and Romney fly against what our nation is about. But courage comes, when fear's abound, for those who know right from wrong, good vs evil, and the triumph our founders knew in discerning the difference.
Americans have forfeited the ability to discern Wind,..... further, complacent in the very liberty and freedoms God has established and given us. Perhaps they are going to have to truly see what it is to not have those....I pray it is not too late for hearts and minds of men to turn..but it may very well be...'deception' appears to now rule the day.
"God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right, even though I think it is hopeless."......Admiral Chester W. Nimitz
"It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their chains.".....Patrick Henry
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." Mark Twain
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.".....Samuel Adams
That is indeed the case. Americans of the Founding Generation were motivated by centuries of oppression and bondage, which they were willing to bear any price to escape.
As you said, the current generations of Americans are the fat and happy heirs of all that so many millions of their forebears toiled, bled, and died to produce. They are too far removed from the stark pain and horror of those days to fully appreciate what a magnificent country was bequeathed to them. They do not value it as they should, because they've never known true deprivation, oppression, and bondage.
Things lightly valued, are also easily thrown away. Thus we have the widespread adoption of enslavement ideologies such as Communism, Socialism, and liberalism. If Americans who hew to those 'isms knew what those societies are really like, they'd beat feet it back to Old Glory in a heartbeat.
Great quotes, by the way. Thank you.
