It won't matter, as Romney will probably not pick anyone that is even remotely conservative as his running mate. IMHO he will go with someone along the lines of Christie (although probably not Christie himself).
The establishment is intent on shutting the TEA party down and that can only be accomplished with a running mate that is a RINO.
Brietbart was the best. He was not the spokeman for the “Tea Party”, though. Noone is.
Mr. Robinson is being the spokesman for Free Republic. If he doesn’t want Mittens’ campaign pushed here, I don’t blame him.
Mittens is aggressively anti-conservative in action and word. Mr. Robinson is a conservative and his website (his work - his effort) is for the conservative cause. Mittens stands in opposition to all of that.
It’s a real crying shame the GOP-e did not ditch Mittens when they saw the Tea Party rise up against obamacare. Instead, the GOP snuggled up to Obama and rose up against the Tea Party. If Romney loses, don’t blame it on the Tea Party or conservatives. The guys in the pup tent on the golf course did it.
“I am already assuming he will be the nominee. I will actively campaign against him in the general (as will many here on FR) and I (and they) will not be helping Obama in the least by doing so.”
So, let me get this straight...
Is the official line of Free Republic now to defeat the Republican candidate? If so, count me out.
And we CAN’T possibly work to defeat the Republican candidate WITHOUT helping the Democratic candidate. Or are you under the illusion that some third party candidate is suddenly gonna rise, based on the mass support of pouting Free Republic votes, and win the election over either of them?
I dont share his values.
Im sorry the party couldnt do better, but consider me out.
That, sir, is the hat trick. I'll be writing in Sarah Palin.
Just a note here to the asshats who are bound to accuse me of "any vote not for Romney is a vote for Obama."
I live in Utah. Romney saved brother (former governor) Leavitt from the Olympics scandal indictments, so they're favorite sons of a feather. It's a MoTown thing. If, God forbid, Romney is the nominee, he'll handily take Utah.
BTW, I'm a $2/day FReeper, not a Republican, have never donated to the Republican Party, and will vote my conscience. The Tea Party is alive and kicking, thank you. There are a lot of (R)'s in the house, but the leadership is (R)ino-e.
Further note to "Republicans": y'all best be replacing the clowns at the top of your (R) establishment. In my estimation, they suck more than the out-of-the-closet communist (D)'s. At least the commies are committed to their effort, and the bastards are accomplishing what they set out to do, unlike the spineless Stupid Party.
Brokered convention? Hmmmm. Romney beats the Halfrican? Hmmmm. Romney's coattails drag a majority of Tea Party candidates to the Senate? Hmmmm. What could possibly go wrong?
See ya in the gulag.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
I’m not sure the donors really cared about any investment in this case- to my way of thinking, a Romney nomination is a sign they have completed that particular goal. Voting Newt in the NC primary is the only peaceful chance to thwart that, in my opinion.
>>>Sorry, I aint voting for Romney.
There are things in life one may find it necessary to apologize. Not voting for Willard is not one of those things. Apology not necessary.
Nope. I sold out my principles the last go-round, because Sarah Palin was on the ballot, but I'm done being played like that by the establishment. So is Sarah.
I guess you're loving that smoke up your skirt. Check the actual record. Massachusetts suffered a terrible economy under Mitt Romney. It was one of the worst in the nation.
>> Sorry, I aint voting for Romney.
I respect your convictions. In that case —Please— work and contribute to help some other Republican get the nomination. But do it now, because there isn’t much time left.
Ditto Jim!
And our work doesn’t stop this November. We need to punish those who forced their will on us by giving us this RINO to go against Obama. For those of us in Virginia, it means next year we defeat in the primary for governor that Romney-loving RINO Bill Bolling, who knocked Newt off the VA GOP Primary ballot. Let’s make Ken Cuccinelli, a constitutional conservative, our Governor in 2013.

Ever hear of Earl Warren?
Dudya was marginally conservative, and far, far from perfect, but I simply won’t trash him. Dubya gave us big tax cuts and never raised taxes; Dubya gave us Roberts and Alito; Dubya was the first to finally confront, and take the battle to, the Islamic terrorists. Gas prices stayed very reasonable. For eight years the Dubya economy roared and only began to turn after the scumbag Democrats took over the House in 2006. I blame Hastert and too many RINOs for that. Like I said, we just disagree about Dubya.
But that’s history. I think we definitely agree about the liberal chameleon Mittens.
No Mittens, no way.

“Politics is all about compromise. If you dont have the stomach for that, then stay out.”
But sugar, we -are- staying out, and that makes Romnoids and Gauleiters just as mad. I am just not willing to set my hair on fire to support Bishop Willard. I am who I am.
Thanks for the orders, but I’ll let Bishop Willard scald and shrivel like a Massachusetts fetus even without your instructions.
What’s this “we” shit, n00b?
