Glenn Beck has been in Texas only a few months, and he's already talking big.
Now, he wants to address America from his own Oval Office.
Lest anyone fear that something has suddenly gone drastically wrong in our country, Beck's Oval Office is a movie set in Irving.
-SNIP-
Saying he will "deliver the speeches the president should have delivered," Beck promised to "activate the sleeping giant" of Christian conservatives in America with speeches from his new set on the Studios' Stage A.
Mainly, of course, Beck's goal is to motivate subscribers to pay $9.95 a month for his show, broadcast daily to about 300,000 viewers via computer, iPad, iPhone or other household appliance.
-SNIP-
Beck said he hopes to hire 1,000 workers in Irving for an entrepreneurial project.
It's named American Dream Labs.
He's right about the dream part

Actually, it is irrationale, but it doesn’t sound as if you’ve thought the issues through. In any case I wish you the best.

Seriously, I’ve thought it through for dozens of years. How could God be less merciful, less forgiving than man?

I don’t think so. But to each his own. My God is more merciful than I am. Otherwise, why would I believe in him?

There is being with God for eternity or being separated from God for eternity - the choice is yours and yours alone. My God has been merciful and willingly sacrificed His Son who took my sin upon Him that I might dwell in God's Glory for eternaty.

"Why would we expect God to be less merciful than man?" "How could God be less merciful, less forgiving than man?" You keep repeating that (or it's variation) what is that supposed to mean, is there a "man"? Which man, what man?

Jesus, I believe spoke metaphorically. There is no pit of fire.
Revelation 22:19
And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
Oops!
- Revelation 19:20: And the beast[5] was taken, and with him the false prophet[6] that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
- Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
- Revelation 20:14-15 Then Death and Hades[7] were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
- Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.[8]

SLB; you'd better hope that JOHN wrote metaphorically; too!

To put a finer point on it, I do not believe that a wise and loving savior or a wise and loving God would ever condemn people to hell based on some technicality of religious belief.
Romans 14:22
So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

How do you know he actually said that? How do you know he meant it in the way youve interpreted it?In like manner...
How do you know he DIDN'T actually said that? How do you know he meant it in the way youve 'believe' it 'should' be?

"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned;
and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given,
and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.
Brigham Young - JoD 3:266 (July 14, 1855)
(It would sure SUCK to be a Salt Lake City MORMON, and have THIS prophet's words hanging over your head! I guess they would have to 'believe' that BY was wrong; or perhaps speaking metaphorically.)

Your cite refers to the book of Revelation alone. Regardless, why should one believe it is the “word of God?” The Gospel of John was written long after Christ and no one is precisely sure who wrote it.
And again, how is it possible that a power capable of creating the universe, create life, create human beings, etc. - a power with the wisdom of eternity - condemn people to flaming hell for, essentially, picking the wrong door on Let’s Make a Deal?

LOL. Oh, yes, you sure told me.Ya because that's what I was bound and determined to do. (eyes roll)
I read all kinds of threads, thanks.
Well then if you read other threads you'd be honest and admit there are right wingers whom think those that spew anti Mormonism rhetoric on FR are bigoted. It's a fact. You are just simply wrong.
And that has nothing to do with the fact that any doctrine which contradicts the word of God is, by definition, false. Now, coming from where you are, I dont expect you to understand. Thats OK.
I probably understand as well or even more than you do. I just don't agree with what you accept as being "the Word of God."
May I ask, though-are you a Mormon?
Certainly. No. They actually accept NT writings as holy writ.
To: greyfoxx39
Wouldn't that be a demotion for you? Thank you. Didn't realize you thought so highly of me. lol.
To: Red Steel
BS baby. I listened to Beck over many months and he was in the tank with Romney. You can peruse all the recent Beck threads where you'll find that numerous posters have come to the same conclusion. LMAO, suuuuuuurrrrrrrrreeeeeeeee, Beck has always been in the tank for Romney, LMAO, he mocks him constantly, I don't know what Beck programs you're listening to but the ones I listen to have him and his crew constantly mocking Romney, I guess some of us listen more closely than others. The "numerous" posters are the ones who can't stand Beck, the ones who think he's crazy, so it's not surprising they would come to the conclusion that Beck is in the tank for Romney.
Beck has tanked on his radio show in my market that as of this week, he was taken off the air on KVOR and was replaced with with Huckabee's new show. And before that, Beck's time slot was switched with Mark Levin to give Levin the better time slot since his show is better and does better than Beck's show. It's been all downhill for Beck in this conservative area market.
Hmmm, so when Levin is taken off a particular station or hannity or someone else I guess we can conclude that it's all downhill for them as well.
