That is the point, the establishment backing Romney from the start was a loser strategy- almost as if it were planned. Romney can’t win, I don’t think it’ll be close at this point.
His record in Massataxes is far too liberal for the GOP base and his “image” is right out of central casting for the evil white Wall Street elitist.
Do you think “Occupy Wall Street” was an accident? They KNEW that Romney was the GOP-annointed way back then. It doesn’t matter than the real Wall Street is going to give Barry his billion, the narrative has been written.
The “real” Romney is too far to the left to capture the base while the public/MSM Romney is going to be the stereotypical evil rich Republican who says things like “I’m not concerned about the very poor” and puts dogs on the roof rack for long trips.
It’s as though the Democrat elite sat down after 2010 and designed the best way for the GOP to lose big in 2012 and then have the GOP elite follow it word for word.
If that script is followed right on through November you could see Obama win in a landslide against the “severely” something liberal Romney.
With the embrace of Romney the Republican Party has moved further left than Bill Clinton of 20 years ago. Meanwhile the narrative will be that it is the “rightwing extremists” who will cause their loss on election day.
Unless someone can explain this entire bizarre Republican campaign to me, I'm going to have to go with what my gut tells me - that the GOP establishment is on the same page as the Left - that they want the same outcome as the Left - which is the destruction of this nation as we know it.
