Good news. But a caution for Americans — politics in Korea, as with much of the rest of Asia, are not like those of the United States or the West. Regionalism, personalities, and other factors are often more influential than ideology in how people vote.
Also, there is major corruption throughout the Korean political system, on all sides. Lack of transparency has consequences, and things are swept under the rug in Asian governments based on a Confucian culture of respect for authority and “saving face” that would never be tolerated in the United States or in modern European politics.
I say that not to attack but to be realistic. I like many things about Korea, but it’s not perfect, though America is rapidly degenerating to the point that I may someday say I prefer Korea’s problems to those of America.
A hostile nuclear Canada? Sounds fun. ;)
