There was nothing wrong with Grand National Party, why did they change the name? Although this is apparently common in some countries.

Grand National Party was one of the coolest names ever. I was crushed when I learned they changed it for no good reason.
Imagine if our parties changed names at the drop of a hat. What would they be called today?
