MIAMI (CBSMiami) George Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, according to the Associated Press.
Additionally, Zimmerman has been taken into custody, but it hasnt been revealed where he is being held.
CBSMiami has confirmed that State Attorney Angela Corey, who was appointed as a special prosecutor in the case, will hold an announcement about the charges at 6 p.m. in Jacksonville.
That press conference can be viewed LIVE starting at 6 p.m. by clicking here.
The burden of proof is pretty high in Florida. Just ask Casey Anthony.
In a “GC”......
Understood-thanks.
I just glanced through his posts. He claims to have practiced criminal law in Illinois, including three death penalty cases.
I read and re-read that post. Vague and unclear at best.
Agreed. I'm still curious as to what even a bad case for Murder I would look like. Who calls the cops to come watch him commit a murder?
Zimmerman now has another lawyer, Mark O’Mara. I hope he is a good one.
No. According to Florida law, aggravated stalking requires a violation of an order of protection multiple times.
That cow was thoroughly enjoying the attention. No one had to pressure her.
The unlawful killing of a human being, when perpetrated by any act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind regardless of human life, although without any premeditated design to effect the death of any particular individual, is murder in the second degree
To prove 2nd degree murder, the key elements are that it was the result of an act "imminently dangerous", and "evincing a depraved mind". Just the act of Zimmerman shooting Martin does not meet that standard.
What Vendome was suggesting, and what I was responding to, is the fact that Aggravated Stalking is one of the acts considered "imminently dangerous" to qualify it as 2nd degree murder. My point is that I don't see how they would qualify what Zimmerman did by following Martin as Aggravated Stalking under the terms of the statute for that crime. If no other crime was committed by Zimmerman that lead up to the shooting (assuming no self-defense claim was available), the most they could charge him with is voluntary manslaughter.
No, amigo, I needed to try again and fix my biffed post. Didn't see you had already replied to my scrambled HTML.
Haha! !! I hope miller attacked zillersham.. and oreilly and harrison are held responsible for encoring roster baiting.
Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara sounds very confident.
I would be confident too if I were him, given the reported facts.
Most of the speculation on these threads and in the media about the case has nothing to do with the relevant legal issues.
The case will turn on only one issue, who initiated the physical aspect of the altercation and whether Martin was on top of him beating him when he used his gun.
The state will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Martin did NOT initiate the physical contact and Martin was not on top of him beating him when Zimmerman used his gun.
I simply don’t see how it is possible for the state to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt based on any facts publicly reported.
The best thing for Zimmerman may well be a long trial in which the true facts get a full public airing notwithstanding the efforts of the MSM. Obviously, there is a risk of a biased and unreasonable jury, but that is Zimmerman’s best shot for the long run in wanting to be able to live a reasonably normal life after acquittal.
“It sounds like? “
That was on several news outlets I think.
Dangit.
Why does everyone want to argue with me but we are agreeing on the same thing.
I am just pointing out how Corey may have arrived at the charge.
I don’t see it and I am trying to get to manslaughter but can’t get there either.
Note George Zimmerman’s new and only attorney, as of this moment, http://www.markomaralaw.com/Attorney-Profile/Mark-M-O-mara.shtml
I wish George and him welland may GOD bless them both.
I want Jose Baez to join on to the defense, just to Piss-off Nancy Grace.
This case is a piece of cake... this is a joke..
LOLOLOLOL
See how stoopit I am?
Post on brother.

Nothing. Those who identify with Zimmerman aren't prone to murderous riots.
