That number, 57 communists, was taken off a bottle of Heinz Ketchup in the movie. It was something to gain attention to Raymond Shaw’s mother’s husband in order to get him the nomination for President. Then years later we have John Kerry (who served in Viet Nam) marrying a woman... well you know. Interesting.
