With all of the chicanery that the GOP-E has done over the last year, and helped the media to do over the last year, there's NO WAY I'm surrendering to these creeps.
Romney is *NOT* our candidate! He's their candidate, we're NOT REPUBLICANS! We are conservatives and constitutionalists FIRST. We believe in small government! Not this big government crap that Romney has peddled for the better half of the last decade or two, and I certainly can't do any more nose holding at the ballot box.
Voting for a big government republican is the real world equivalent of cutting off my nose to spite my face. That I refuse to do.
Reforming the GOP into a small government conservative party doesn't just mean voting for the right tea partiers at the right time. It means refusing to vote for the wrong big government republicans at the wrong time. We need to starve the beast of votes. We need to teach the republican party that if they have any shot at electoral success in the future, they only have one viable path. Bold colors BOLD COLORS BOLD COLORS
Hear hear!!
I think it is at least worth studying the implications of supporting an independent run by Ron Paul now. Although my first choice would be Gingrich, his chances of being nominated seem remote, and it would do no real good to have him as the vice-presidential nominee if Romney is not forced to commit to much smaller government. Not that I was ever that sold on Gingrich being on an express route to smaller government either, but until today I have been hesitant to support Ron Paul due to the uncertainties about his foreign policy stands. However, there’s nothing to defend if the country goes bankrupt, and I see a lot of logic in his position that the rest of the world should pick up the slack. All things considered, I think it might now make sense for all “real” conservatives to get behind Ron Paul and give him some momentum towards a viable third party candidacy. Maybe somehow this would even force the GOP convention to back him, but I realize these are long odds. But Mitt Romney? When you combine the moderate-liberal tendencies with the Mormon uncertainties, the net result is hardly better than Obama. At the very least, Romney would need to sign documents committing to certain objectives and making absolute guarantees about freedom of religion because the last thing America needs is some crazy period of Mormon-evangelical-Catholic religious bickering. But with the unknowns that surround Romney this seems almost guaranteed especially if he managed to beat Obama, which frankly, I don’t think he can do (unless Obama does something even stranger than what he’s already done, and we all know he’s waiting for 2013 to start that stuff).
Sorry to ramble, but give Ron a chance is my motto.
Zero has the capacity for great evil. His childhood was characterized by rejection and ostracism. He soon gravitated to radical ideologies nurtured by his mother and Frank Davis. He is a profoundly wounded man and he seeks vengeance on the world. Communists radical leaders realized that this twisted man could be used for their own ends, and they passed him up the ladder of success through their Leftist institutions.
Is this not the resume of an evil man, a despot, tyrant or even a genocidal maniac? Does anyone want to find out, just for kicks, or to prove a point? I think no, we cannot take this chance and find out that we have given rise to the American Hitler.
I never said I was depressed.
you might want to pick up the pace.
You and others like you may not be supporting Obama, but, you stand a good chance of getting Obama again by not voting “against Obama”.
Voting for Romney is not the best one could hope for, but, not voting for Romney or voting for the other guy, are the worst of decisions that one could make.
Aw, c'mon. Baal is a cream-puff; especially after he took over the body of Adria.
It makes we want to puke! I don't like Romney he is NOT “my guy” but &^%$#@ IT IS WHAT IT IS! IF iT’S GOING TO BE ROMNEY OR OBOZO I WANT OBOZO KICKED OUR OF OUR WHITEHOUSE. Don't reply to this I am going to puke now!
I never said I was depressed.
Maybe I'm reading a different post then. It seems like you, and many others, are all distraught because we didn't win the fight with the establishment at the national level - yet all but ignore the great success we have had at the local and state level (where it all really starts).
Look, you don't win every battle. Jim Robinson is right, revolution is here - and it is largely taking place behind the scenes at the local and state level which is largely out of view of the public and isn't sexy enough to get much MSM coverage. But we ARE making great strides and change will come from the bottom up - not from the top down.
As I posted on a similar thread, I don’t see myself as voting FOR Romney this election. I see it as a vote AGAINST Obama, and I am ok with that.
Nope.
You can click my name, and see my posts. I’ve been around here for a long time.
I have supported every candidate in this primary process, except two. Never Romney, and Never Huntsman.
Never. All conservatives are “my guy”, but Huntsman and Romney were not conservatives.
Bully for you, HMHA, who ARE you voting for? Hmmm?
No.
Ron Paul's foreign and defense policies are wacky, and arguably more dangerous than even Hussein's.
I know paulbots think they see an opening here, but there isn't one. Paul's mostly good economic policies are appealing to some Republicans, but he trivializes himself when he blathers on about how Bradley Manning is a "hero and a patriot" or that it doesn't matter if Iran gets a nuke. Conservatives are never going to vote for a Paul 3rd party. But hey, I encourage him to do it. Paul should get out of the GOP and run indie. I think he will pull more votes from Obama's drug addled college hipster demographic than he would from anyone on the right.
You totally don’t get it. The completely compromised GOP establishment is not going to let you take the reins of power away from them. It’s a pipe dream. This has been apparent to many of us for years now. Therefore, some of us have pretty much predicted everything that has happened in this election cycle. Not hard to do. It’s all very predictable, if you’ve been around politics very long at all, if you have any principles, and if you have an ounce of discernment.
There will be NO enthusiasm for that Massachusetts liberal. There will be no 2010-like conservative grassroots work and money to get that slimy liberal elected.
The GOP can rot with their Obama-lite candidate. I will never again vote for ANYONE who is not conservative. PERIOD!
“So youre supporting Obama?”
If you vote for Mittens you might as well be.
“So youre supporting Obama?”
So your screen name isn’t a self description?
“Youre claiming that Mark Levin isnt conservative enough??”
Mark is an establishment Republican. He would vote for Obama if that is what the RNC ran. Mark is a Convenient Conservative; conservative as long as it doesn’t run afoul of his being a Republican first.
I prefer not to place my party over my country.
Oh, great. Then we can support Obama instead and get a 5th and 6th Communist appointed to the Supreme Court, at which point the entire Constitution is deader than a doornail, and all personal liberty is a thing of the past forever.
Can anyone say National Progressive Fascism? Because that’s exactly what’s going to happen under a second Obama administration. Actually, that’s what’s happening now, but it will become permanent if given four more years to settle in for good.
Can anyone say “syphilitic camel”? Well, I can, and I’ll vote for one before I’d vote for Obama if a syphilitic camel is the GOP nominee. I figure if I’m willing to vote for a diseased dromedary, I could vote for Romney.
Added to my Romney Republican bumper sticker list. But I think you'll have to shave it down a bit to make it fit...
