To: Kaslin; Eaker

I long for the days when smoking was considered normal and homosexuality was widely considered deviancy. The world has gone bonkers compared to the days of my youth in the 40's. Back then, a cigarette lighter and ashtray on the coffee table was the sign of a good host.

Ping to FReeper eaker who may be interested in knowing that at my church, the men would gather outside after services and enjoy a relaxing smoke. The preacher would often join them. That was the way things were even well into the 1960's.

Thanks for the ping.

I remember smoking at my desk and the Personnel Department had no problem with it.

Now at most companies Human Resource Departments freak out if you are holding a white pencil.

I am glad I work for a small firm where I am a person not a “resource” like a desk.

However the FR nanny staters love any liberal law as long as it covers something they don’t like.
