The special prosecutor leading the investigation into the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman is known for her tough tactics aimed at locking up criminals for long sentences and making it difficult to negotiate light plea bargains...

Corey, a Jacksonville native, also teaches classes for prosecutors and police officers about interrogations and the justifiable use of deadly force and is active in the local Republican Party.

I don't see this woman as bowing to public pressure. The self-defense aspect was clear on Day One, as evidence by the fact that Zimmerman was not charged.

The only reason she would find differently is because of political expediency, and I don't read her as the politically expedient type.

Despite her reputation for not accepting pleas, I’ll wager money that she goes for murder 2 and accepts a plea for whatever that jurisdiction calls negligent homicide. Zimmerman would be an absolute fool to go to trial. Given the nationwide (so no moving the trial) publicity, she could get whatever conviction she wants if it goes to trial.

If Holder’s people don’t get their way the Feds will probably step in. They have done it before.

Well, what did you think happens when the local prosecutor recuses himself?

it was just re-reported she was NOT going to the grand jury.

seems like she is finding something, ANYTHING to charge him as a sacrificial lamb.

Nifong had the same characteristics....

I have no faith at all in such prosecutors. Win at any cost is not their job. They have an affirmative duty to disclose exculpatory information.

She is operating under the everyone is guilty of something.

A hint that she is bowing to political pressure and will prosecute him regardless of the evidence is that she recently stated that she will not put the case before a grand jury. Even though evidentiary standards are low for a grand jury, you still must have some evidence to indict. She does not want the embarrassment of the grand jury returning a no bill. She will prosecute him for manslaughter or negligent homicide without regard to whether she has the evidence or not.

Zimmer is toast! There’s no way she’s doesn’t bring some type of charges. She’ll charge him with something, even if they don’t have enough evidence to convict a gnat!

Zimmer needs to get a team of black lawyers!

zimmerman has no choice BUT to go to trial.

WE as citizens have to commit to serve and report for jury duty. We need as many as possible second amendment supporters on that pannel.

Her decision to NOT call a grand jury is victory for Zimmerman. Grand juries believe they have been called to issue indictments; as a former prosecutor, I know this to be true.

I once called a grand jury to give a “second opinion” on a case where I didn’t think there was enough evidence, and the grand jury agreed. But they were pissed because they thought I wasted their time with bringing them a case where there wasn’t enough evidence.

They wouldn't take the case. Don't want to turn on their own.

I really don’t think she’ll bring charges; she even said in an article that she was pissed that her old boss made stuff up about her. She should REALLY relate to this case and Zimmerman then!

There is no evidence; not now not when this happened and she knows it. I would be very surprised if she chooses to indict.

I will be very surprised if she does not idict on SOMETHING.

even if it is unlawful display of firearm or something ridiculous but firearm related.

Most of these protestors just want a perp walk.
(I bet they are not against the death penalty now)

I say there will be no charges against Zimmerman, and she will have charts and graphs showing exactly why and shove them up the collective wazoo apertures of the New Black KKK.

That's my bet too. It has been since it was announced that the Gov. assigned her to review this.

I’m with you. She sounds more like a prosecutor than a politician to me. If the evidence isn’t there (which I believe it isn’t) there will be no charges.

I don't think she can be intimidated either. As a state attorney she has undoubtedly prosecuted some far more dangerous people than the race pimp dregs who are trying to stir things up here.

As for the FedMob DoJ turkeys; they had better tread lightly when they think to criticize her decision should it be to not prosecute. She was assigned by the Gov so they will be stepping on his toes and the entire FL state attorney's office. Not very good publicity for an AG who is already looking pretty bad.

That just mens she wants to maintain control. She can manipulate the situation and keep it out of the hands of mere citizens and keep it in the realm of the political.

Statewide prosecutors are political.
