Caught on camera– a tourist being beaten in downtown Baltimore and instead of helping him, a crowd laughs and steals his belongings.
Mike Hellgren has the video and the investigation.
Police hope this video will get the attackers off the streets.
The video shows a man being punched in the face in Downtown Baltimore. You can hear his head hit the pavement near the entrance to Courthouse East.
Instead of helping, people laugh.
Then, the crowd strips him naked and takes his car keys, watch, money and iPhone.
It happened St. Patrick’s Day. Police say the victim was out partying and woke up the next day at his hotel, cut and bruised with no idea why.
“He had every right to leave wherever he was and get back to where he needed to be safely. Their behavior was just criminal,” Det. Nicole Monroe of the Baltimore City Police Department said.

Not just socialism/liberalism. Many large cities have liberal government, but don’t have the high crime rates, vandalism, etc of these cities. (They will though as they continue to import the “criminal classes” through generous entitlement policies). I am no defender of liberalism-far from it-but liberalism isn’t the common denominator in the failing cities you mentioned. Hmmm, what is?
Now the role socialism plays in this is another question, as in which is the chicken and which is the egg. Liberals use “minorities” as pawns in their reindeer games, but minorities are more rhan happy to be used, though I doubt many are intelligent enough to see hat they’re being made pawns in this war. As long as they get the “gubmint gibmes” it’s all good.

Detroit may have it’s problems (huge problems), but show me the articles of random beat downs in Detroit. I’m downtown all the time for Tigers, Wings and Lions games, DIA, Auto show etc. I’ve read numerous articles of this in Baltimore and a few southern cities. Detroit’s crime is mostly in the neighborhoods, and black on black drug related crime.

This is exactly the sort of thing that went on when I was in junior high school in Southwest Houston back during desegregation and busing.
I came out of elementary school into this jhigh that was about 65% black. I wasn't a very big guy and was scared to death at what the blacks put my brothers and I though, not to mention the rest of the white kids.
I did feel like I was thrown into a lions den. My parents sold our house in Houston at a loss and we got the hell outta there.
Watching this video just brought flashbacks. They acted like uncivilized animals. Gang up on one lil white kid, jeer, heckle, go through your pockets, steal whatever you were carrying and knock you around.
I absolutely did not understand why they acted this way and why the blacks hated me...not a clue.
Didn't even learn what racism and prejudice was until the blacks taught me everything regarding the subject. I hated them!
Well, now I know. It's not a color thing. It's how people are raised, their character and that of their parents.
Inner city blacks have been taught victim-hood. We are victims so we must make them victims. Scary situation that you man found himself.
What was particularly disgusting was how the black ho’s were acting....just like I remembered it. Tribal or animalistic they taunted him while the males closed down the circle on him.
If ever there were racist, it is superbly demonstrated on this video.
My point is that the far left liberal socialists who take over the governing of these cities even states such as Michigan under Granholm usually have the same ending and its never pretty.
In a way, it is a “color thing”. Black males from families at the higher SES still show higher crime rates, higher drop-out rates, lower SAT scores, etc than comparable white kids, or even than white kids from poorer families.
Google “regression to the mean” to learn about it.
CBS Baltimore will probably never again have a story like this one, a truthtelling video. Surely CBS will be off the air shortly. They didn’t do what they were told to do — blacks hurting whites? Impossible.
