An elderly woman was ordered to find a new GP because the carbon footprint of her two-mile round trips to the surgery where she had been treated for 30 years was too large.

Avril Mulcahy, 83, was told to address the green travelling issues over her journeys from her home in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, to the West Road Surgery. The surgery wrote to Mrs Mulcahy, telling her to register with a new GP within 28 days.
The letter said: Our greatest concern is for your health and convenience but also taking into consideration green travelling issues. Re: Carbon footprints and winter weather conditions, we feel it would be advisable for patients to register at surgeries nearer to where they live.
"We would be very grateful if you could make the necessary arrangements to re-register at another practice.

Well, she could move closer to the doc!
“should a emergency arise it would be too far to treat AND save the earth.”
Lie down in the street and die you useless eater!
That wooshing sound is my point going over your head. :-)
Goes to show the bottom line of the global warmmists is mass murder...as is usual for Marxists.
Oh, wait...

There are no shortages.
I am British. Most British people are like me re access to doctors and dentists.
I have a surgery 1/4 of a mile to my flat’s rear and the other local surgery is across the street. My dentist is in the next street with my old dentist at the top of the same street, with another two within 1/4 of a mile. My local pharmacist is 500 yards from me.
Given I live plonk in the centre of a town, but even if I lived in the suburbs, there’d be a doctor, dentist and chemist within walking distance.
This is a decision by one GP surgery, not the Govt.
And it was European roots that built your country.
the entire edifice of the practice of medicine and the popular delusion of "carbon footprints" has been enabled and supported by the government, and God only know what sorts of penalties and incentives by governmente are applied to physicians and any other practitioners who are forced to look to the government for permission to work and to collect payment to bring the warped logic to bear on ordinary people.
OMG you really don't get that?
