IRS Commissioner: Paying Taxes Is Pathway to Citizenship for Illegal Aliens By Elizabeth Harrington April 5, 2012

(CNSNews.com) – Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said Thursday that paying taxes is a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens.

At the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., 12 days before this year's tax-filing deadline (Apr. 17), Shulman was asked about what his agency is doing to collect taxes from illegal aliens.

“You know, it’s a great question,” he said. “One of the pathways to citizenship that people believe is a good one is--even if you’re not in this country legally--to pay taxes.”

“And so our job is to make sure, if you work in this country and you have a tax obligation, that you file a tax return,” said Shulman. “That’s what we try to do. And so our job is around exactly what whoever wrote the question asked, which is to make sure taxes are paid. We’re not responsible for the other pieces of immigration law, immigration policy.”

Illegal aliens do not have legitimate Social Security Numbers that entitle them to work in the United States--or to file federal tax returns. IRS and Social Security Administration records show that every year many millions of people file taxes using Social Security Numbers that either were never issued by the government or do not match the name of the person using it.

You’re right. This is a canard. Low income people, illegals and others, don’t pay income taxes anyway. Hell, 49% of everybody in the USA don’t pay income taxes.

This man is clearly too stupid to hold his job. As an IRS employee, he should understand that in order to pay taxes, a person must earn above a certain amount.

As an IRS employee, he probably recognizes the fact that only 51% of the people in this country actually pay into the system, and that 47-48% receive money OUT of this system. Thus, does this dunce truly believe that illegal aliens earn more, and actually pay taxes on the income that is greater than that of 50% of the American population?

He’s either too stupid to hold this position, or he’s too deceitful to be trusted to hold this position.

So...if the IRS and Pew can determine which taxpayers are in fact in the country illegally, to the extent they are spewing data to back it up, why are they not culpable for not reporting them to the INS?

Isn’t NOT paying taxes supposed to be a pathway to PRISON?

When is the last time an illegal alien was arrested for income tax evasion or income tax fraud?

Wouldn’t a taxpayer need a valid SSN# if in fact they made enough to pay taxes. I’d always hoped several illegals would use my SSN so I could get bigger a payout when I retired.

....." And so our job is around exactly what whoever wrote the question asked, which is to make sure taxes are paid. We’re not responsible for the other pieces of immigration law, immigration policy.”

So, here we reveal our government's willingness to SELL citizenship to people whose first act in this country was to break our laws.

The word prostitute comes to mind, as the Internal Revenue Service assumes the role of pimp.

I agree, P-M. It’s illegal to be here in the first place, so any job acquired is also illegal, and compounding that is an evasion of taxes.

They should be arrested and any employer should also be arrested. Both would be avoiding taxes. The illegal should be charged and sent back to country of origin.

"More like getting Earned Income tax credits."

In an Obamanation, being a tax filer who pays no taxes, but collects taxpayer subsidies is "pathway to citizenship."

This is the dark secret of all the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" proposals that try to sucker Americans by saying they're "not Amnesty because they make the illegal file back taxes."

So called Conservatives or Tea Party leaders/members who try to sell this are a disgrace.

This is where it is all headed for...

http://www.travelandleisure.com/travel-blog/carry-on/2012/4/5/owe-the-irs-bill-would-suspend-passport-rights-for-delinquent-taxpayers

The Rinocracy thinks they can circumvent the Bill of Rights via the IRS. As well as bypass the normal legal paths to citizenship. They continue ultimately to try to dilute and disenfranchise our votes.
