I have little doubt that the same newsroom smear team that "edited" the Zimmerman clip is the same group that helped Lauer orchestrate this disgraceful, brazen smear of George W. Bush:

It was an error that the editor didn’t even realize his blatant predisposition to be biased. It was an error that his superiors didn’t recognize their bias. Finally, it was an error that he got caught and now they have to slap his wrist to placate other dubious news organizations that just can’t help piling on a competitor, even though they’d have done the same damned thing.
