Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio reminded everyone why hes considered Americas toughest sheriff when he took a Fox News anchor to task in a live interview this afternoon.
Appearing on America Live with Megyn Kelly, Arpaio told Kelly she was wrong in some of her reporting about a federal investigation into his treatment of Hispanics in Maricopa County, Ariz.
The U.S. Justice Department is looking into allegations of racial profiling, a charge Arpaio denies, and the federal government wants Arpaio to allow an independent monitor to oversee the conduct of his office.
The Obama administration announced its now preparing to sue Arpaio. The Justice Department has said negotiations have broken down with the sheriff, who also believes President Obamas birth certificate and Selective Service card are likely forgeries.
Though Kelly never mentioned concerns over Obamas eligibility in her interview, she did ask Arpaio why it would be a deal-breaker to have a federal monitor in his presence to make sure everything in his county office were legit.

I just watched the video. I especially enjoyed the footage of Sherriff Joe signing autographs for the inmates on scraps of paper while out in Tent City standing amongst them.
I wonder if Megyn Kelly and FOX News would object to having a “federal monitor” assigned to them to make sure everything at the network was “legit?”
Quite frankly, I don’t see what you guy’s are carping about with this interview. Kelly did a pretty good job of interviewing Sheriff Joe. I’d like to see the feds get their asses handed to them again in court by Sheriff Joe just like I hope they do tomorrow by SCOTUS.
WND is misleading so they can pimp a traffic-grabbbing headline. Megyn Kelly was very respectful - as she always is - with Sheriff Joe. It’s her job to state the DOJ’s claims and allow Joe plenty of time to rebut them, which she did, and he did well. Kelly has had Joe on many time to state his case, and clearly likes and respects the Sheriff. WND can be really annoying sometimes with their hype. Joe wasn’t on to discuss the eligibility issue, so it is also unfair to hit Kelly on that.
“I dont see what you guys are carping about with this”
I couldn’t agree with you more. Kelly asked the questions she should have, and never disputed any of Arpaio’s answers. She gave him the opportunity to state his case which he did very well. I believe the sheriff would agree.
Agree.
Interview is a good, solid interview.
Lets face it this situation is a case of DOJ trying to set a ‘backfire’. They know when Arpio comes out with the specifics in the cold case posse it will set off a fire storm. This is an attempt to set the stage for discrediting Arpio when that happens.
These thugs are so predictable.
Megyn dear, not that you or many people in the rest of the country would understand it, but it's called assumed jurisdiction
This ain't Joe's first rodeo, so he knows what he's doing.
GO JOE!
WOuldn’t you. Know a few freepers who keep out of the public for that reason.
I’ve never liked her.
Bump, thanks for the links.
They should take her off and give the hour to Judge Napolitano. She’s a lightweight and she talks to fast. Most annoying.
Are we expecting a ruling so soon?
Joe Arpaio is an old school, real man, fighting a real war, where one of the main battle lines of that war has been redrawn through the Maricopa Sheriff's office.
Time to do my part to help resupply those fighting on that front. This is one of the "must win" battles in 2012.
Megyn, what makes you thing the Feds are on the up and up when it comes to Arpaio?
&&&
Exactly!
I lost respect for this bimbo when she came out it favor of organizations that are helping teens to find their identity regarding their sexual orientation.
My pleasure.
Hey Meghyn. A duly elected sheriff does not require a Fed looking over his shoulder. Thats for the good citizens of his county to handle.
