The racists that complain about the ad are (perhaps intentionally, perhaps in ignorance) slamming a very important part of traditional black American life (notice the lack of a hyphen). And that is a FAMILY meal on Sunday afternoon, after church. Every family could not afford meat at every meal. But Sunday was special. Notice the past tense because most modern American families, of all races, fail to make a distinction between that day and any other. But the traditional black American family went to church. And had meals together, as a FAMILY.

Unfortunately, this country has been the victim of the Johnson era, and its free this and free that "Great Society". And part of the outcome was the breakdown of the black American family. Thank you for your kind attention.

Everything is racist! Youtube won't allow the commercial to stay up but you can kind of see it here.

the sight of a "black woman espousing the virtues of fried chicken is never a pleasant thing to behold," says Rich Juzwiak at Gawker

Mr. Juzwiak's comment is the liberal collectivist mindset in a nutshell. Ms. Blige probably LIKES fried chicken. As an INDIVIDUAL, she has a perfect right to endorse a product SHE enjoys.

But Juzwiak says she must not "espouse its virtues" because the "collective" (mostly white liberals) finds it inappropriate.

Agree with your comment. I wouldn’t have thought anything of this ad if not for these two bloggers pointing out, in their mind, that black people like fried chicken. Does anyone besides me ever notice that it’s usually while liberals who try to stir up anything as “racist” while I’d wager anything that most black people who saw this ad would think nothing of it?

Not a direct link, but you can view the horrible racist video on this site:

http://www.theboombox.com/2012/04/03/mary-j-blige-burger-king/

It shows a black woman singing about chicken. Can't get any more racist than that.

Hmmmmm, I’ve seen a lot of Mickey D’s ads that I thought were pandering and best and racist at worst.

Not a peep out of the race baiters.

I wonder why?

I eat chicken, I even raise my own chickens, I am white, so I much be a racist.

Ok, now I need to know what other races I might be offending with the raising and eating of my ducks and geese??

I have a dog, but I don’t eat dog.... okay, what race eats dogs?

The Chinese folks should like me, because I don’t even own a cat.

True story: My wife had a Black boss for several years. At all office bbq’s he would bring his own bucket of chicken. I used to tease him about it. He was recently demoted and transferred. The office had a going away potluck for him..... I bought him a bucket of chicken. He got a kick out of it.

I will probably be going to racist prison.

Fried chicken is certainly a staple in soul food, and thus I can see thin-skinned liberals complaining that it is “stereotypical” to have a black person hawk fried chicken (not that it wouldn’t be a stupid complaint). But if this was a chicken wrap, then IT WOULDN’T EVEN FIT INTO THE FRIED CHICKEN STEREOTYPE. The soul-food staple is fried chicken still on the bone, not breaded chicken strips, much less breaded chicken strips in a wrap. So cries of racism here are beyond idiotic.

Isn’t Blige the singer who witnessed a shooting in the recording studio and decided to not “snitch?”

The woman got paid to do a commercial about fried chicken. I like fried chicken. I like the white meat and the dark meat.

Here's the ad on Gawker.

This is more dumb liberal astroturfing. Of course no one is bothered by the Popeye's Chicken spokeslady. What is wrong with people?

Then I guess the fact that I have, at least once, gone to a restaurant owned and operated by a black family and ordered fried chicken is a mark of racism rivaling that of the klan...
