Unemployment stubbornly over 8%. His landmark piece of legislation in dire peril of being dumped by the Supreme Court. The "flexibility" moment with Putin's pawn. Does that sound like an invincible incumbent to you?
It does to Joe Scarborough, and according to him, to every other member of the Republican establishment. On Morning Joe today, Scarborough said that while they won't admit it on TV, "no one" in the GOP establishment believes Mitt Romney will beat Barack Obama in the general election. cripplecreek, the GOP is literally the only line of defense against Obama, and what Obama will continue to do to this country. I think it is wrong for anyone of us on the right to make such comments about the Republicans. When we accuse the GOP of being afraid of “heavy lifting” or when we admit that the GOP will “blame Obama for all their failures”, we do a great disservice to conservatives in this country. I’m sorry, but your remarks about the GOP sound just like leftist talking points.
What do they care, really? The establishment of both parties are one in the same. They're members of the same country clubs, send their kids to the same private schools, spend their weekends with each other laughing and joking. Their comfortable lifestyles will not be impacted regardless of which party is in power. And should they get voted out of office, they'll have Cadillac pensions on top of guaranteed six-figure consulting jobs in the private sector.
Im for ABO but Romney is going to lose and I don’t think it’s going to be conservatives that will not vote for him. I think the precious moderates and independents will not be inspired enough with this milquetoast, bland, uncharismatic, no core, wooden and plastic of a candidate we got -— they’ll just stick with the one they already got even if they don’t like him either, that being Obama
What was the real circumstance of Scarborough leaving Congress as he did? Was the truth ever known?
You mean was there a big media inquiry into the dead intern found in his office?
Which is the dumbest "number one issue" imaginable. If that's the most important issue, then why not nominate Hillary Clinton? It just shows the voters are sheeple led by the RINO media, who has been pushing the "Romney is electable" meme for at least 6 months now. They have nothing good to say about him based on his past and present record, so can only point to a mythical future proposition to try to sell him. And every voter who bought it is a brain dead idiot. The only issue that matters is electing someone who will promote conservative policies.
My feeling is most of the better candidates never got in the race because they were afraid they'd be perceived as racist if they had to be publically critical of Obama. I'm sure that whittled down the field some. They're also not as dumb as Romney, who knows nothing about politics, and assumes he can win the race by being a "nice guy." He'll try but he can't and won't do it. Romney's imminent nomination has all but guaranteed us four more years of Obama, unless of course a massive market crash, Katrina-like debacle, or Lewinsky-like scandal happens in October.
Why Rick?
Fiscally, He’s one of them.
The reason is simple. The GOP-e hates conservatives more than Progressives. CWII is getting closer...
That is definitely awesome and shows us once again Palin is a natural, 100% pure conservative with all the right instincts. West seems like the real deal to me, a true “young gun” conservative. Unlike Rubio who seems more like the establishment’s new golden boy. The fact that the establishment is trying to redistrict West out of existence adds more proof to the pudding.
Levin is clearly still talking about the primary contests which are upcoming. He has even said so on his show. He has also continued to say that he would vote for a can of orange juice if that is the nominee against Obama. Please distinguish between primary season and the November election... there is a world of difference.
I will do everything I can to make sure that the GOP fields a conservative candidate in November.(though there is no true conservative in the bunch)
But come November I will do EVERYTHING I can to ensure that Obama does NOT have a second term
If the SCOTUS shoots down Obamacare, this would take a major issue off the table and help Mitt Milquetoast. The MSM was going to go after the hypocrisy angle with MassCare being the prototype for Obamacare.
Which history says you won't have after 2014. The opposing party to the president usually wins seats in the mid-terms. Romney has proven as governor that he will bend over for a liberal legislature, if not try to "out-liberal" them if he thinks that's where the wind is blowing. This is why we're probably better off with him losing now. Then we can maintain gridlock against Obama, win more seats in 2014, and get a better nominee in 2016. If we get Romney now, chances are Dems will win seats in 2014 and then win back the presidency in 2016, a repeat of 2006 and 2008. Then they'll have the mandate and the majority to pass single payer health care, cap-and-trade and do everything else they want.
Im for ABO but Romney is going to lose and I dont think its going to be conservatives that will not vote for him. I think the precious moderates and independents will not be inspired enough with this milquetoast, bland, uncharismatic, no core, wooden and plastic of a candidate we got - theyll just stick with the one they already got even if they dont like him either, that being Obama
And you believe that Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich will inspire moderates and independents ?
Because he couldn’t be more unlike them.
Yuuup!!!
We needn’t a golden boy...we need the real deal.
Pretty easy job
There is a treasure trove of negative material for all factions of the liberal media to attack Romney with and he doesn't have the intrinsic likability to rise above the attacks on an emotional level. His weak-to-terrible performance in all his past political runs bears that out. Short of an October news disaster for B.O., Romney is toast. He's unelectable.
No I didn’t say that. I’m not advocating for any of these GOP clowns but it’s clear that Romney is weak and has all of the attributes of all of the recent Presidential losers - flip flopped, wooden, out of touch, uninspiring,....etc. You know that he’s all of that and more and it’s very sad what’s going to most likely happen
“If Romney wins it will be because Democrats have voted for him. Why would ANY Republican be content with four years of a President and his policies whom DEMOCRATS are happy voting for?!”
Reagan got a lot of Democrats to vote for him. Was that so bad?
Face it, we will need every vote we can get to topple the Obama Regime.
I appreciate the sentiment. If Romney is the nominee, it doesn't what you or anyone else does, Democrats will win.
