NBC News has completed the internal investigation into the edited tape of George Zimmermans 911 call, which was aired on Today. The network admitted an error and apologized to viewers.
The edited call was aired on Today, but was aired repeatedly including during MSNBC segments about the Trayvon Martin case. NBCs audio made it seem as though Zimmerman voluntarily offered that Martin looked suspicious because he was black. The unedited audio, The Hollywood Reporter notes, reveals that Zimmerman didnt mention Martins race until the 911 operator asked him, Is he white, black or Hispanic?
From The Hollywood Reporter:
During our investigation it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret, NBC News said in a statement e-mailed to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers.
When asked if anyone at Today had lost their job or had been reassigned as a result of the investigation, an NBC spokeswoman said: We will not be commenting on our course of action.

No error.
Intentional passed ball by fielder.
The only thing they regret, is that the chicanery was discovered...

Not so cleverly concealed code for, "We're not going to do a d-d thig about it, so there!"

I think we need a new federal agency to ensure that audio tapes don't magically edit themselves.
An ‘oops’ there? You have to deliberately change or otherwise modify something. What ‘error’? The tape machine arbitrarily erased certain portions of the tape on its own? I also guess that ABC had problems with their video equipment as well.
A lawsuit against NBC could pay for George Zimmerman’s legal fees. I’d sue their ass off.
The(N)othing (B)ut (C)rap Network gets it put to ‘em. Slanting this to the way they wanted it, and has to admit us smart Conservative’s know they slant the truth. The real FAUX NEWS NBC
The media in our country is completely worthless to honest American patriots.
There was an error made alright. The error was the decision to edit the audio. They regret getting caught. Imagine if Fox had done something like this. Contributing to race riots - unbelievable.
You communists at NBC don't regret one thing about this. It was done on purpose. It was done to inflame. It was done with no regard for the truth. It was done thinking you could further brainwash the dolts who watch your stinking hate filled propaganda.
FU NBC
It was a completely innocent error.
Just like putting explosives in the gas tanks of those SUVs back in the 90s.
Anyone could make that mistake.
I smell a rat, er, lawyer.
It has to be an error. If it were deliberate, that implies malice. If there’s malice, then even more lawyers get involved, and it wouldn’t end so nice for NBC.
So, say it was an error, clam up, and whistle by the graveyard seems to be the decided upon course of action.
You didn’t really think they needed to investigate how this happened, do you? They knew the producers and staff involved. It took some time to come up with a strategy, that’s all.
That’s why they want to control the net.. they can’t lie and get away with it like they once did.
BS This is S O P
So the chant in the conference room is “We're number four!”. Get used to it, clowns. If they were serious about the business, heads would roll. They would be holding “zero-tolerance” press conferences. Instead they want to become the propaganda arm of the DNC.
I like the way Leno regularly blasts NBC management. At least that clown is entertaining, not dangerous.
