A lot of the damage to the homes there can be attributed to the shoddy workmanship of the illegals who build the structures. A properly-constructed home will, of course, have some damage but not to the extent suffered by the slip-shod work by the illegals who swarm all over Texas.
The well-built, solid homes in places like Highland Park were constructed by real Americans. I've never heard of any significant tornado damage there.
This is just another reason why the borders must be secured and deportations ought to be the rule.

More likely, the damage is due to closeness to the actual vortex (highest wind speed) and the amount and weight of the debris hitting the house.
