I don’t think that there’s any question that Mitt Romney is, by nature, a capitalist and that Barack Obama, by nature, is not. Romney, by his election (or any other Republican), will open up the spigot of American investment, resulting in more jobs and greater prosperity. So, despite my misgivings about much of Romney’s character and issue positions, I do believe that Gov. Palin is correct that anyone - even Romney - is far better for the country than Obama. That isn’t so much an endorsement of Romney than a statement of practically indisputable fact.
Romney is a crony capitalist, not a free-market capitalist.
As is Obama.
Big difference.
This is not just any ordinary election. People are scared about the future. People want competence and a president with a green eye shade. People want normalcy again. They’ve been in this ‘hope’ dream and want to be pinched out of it.
I think the Romney campaign has understood this all along.
People want this country righted, but not necessarily by the most ‘right’ candidate. I think they just want someone with solid, proven, competent, successful business experience. This election is not about the usual social issues that divide right and left. It is about the economy, the debt, and this country’s future and who can best right the course.
Romney has been just about my last default choice, but I can go with him over Obama without a moment’s hesitation. And if we elect a tea party House of Representatives, Romney will have to yield to those forces. I also believe Romney will have to go pretty far to the right in picking a VP.
I just want my sanity and my country back. I want my son to have a future.
