Somebody from the FBI did an interview sometime after the 2008 election (IIRC) where they said that there isn’t a background check for federal elected officials. The election is the background check and nobody would be authorized to overturn the results of an election because the one elected had a questionable background.

Was that source inaccurate in that claim?

Hillary had FBI files on people in Congress.

I was in the military and there is an FBI file on me. My dad worked int the nuclear power business and he, too, has a FBI file.

Background checks are quite common. I have no doubt one exists for BHO2 aka Barry Soetoro.

How would a background check for elected office work? You win an election and then the FBI decides if you can actually go to Congress.

Wouldn’t someone like Obama just stock the FBI with lackeys and have every elected Republican fail the background check?

It seems like this would unknowingly create a State Police.
