President Obama preemptively slammed the Supreme Court as a bunch of "unelected group of people" who will have turned to "judicial activism or a lack of judicial restraint" if they decide to strike down his signature legislative achievement, the healthcare reform act.
Obama was speaking at a trilateral event with the Prime Minister of Canada and President of Mexico.
Obama touted the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as "a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically-elected Congress."

If Obama had gotten good news from Kagan last Friday about the preliminary vote, he wouldn’t feel the need to result to his usual “thuggary” today. He would be acting smug and confident. I have had run-ins with people like him. He’s like a cat backed into a corner right now.
” Just like I said last week, if it was to be upheld, he wouldnt be talking like this. He knows.............”
You were right....so was I. I said they would kill it, and Kagan told Obama(or got word to him, through a trusted Marxist emissary)
Kagan or Sotamayor, they were put there for a reason.

"Whether he is setting the stage for it passing or preparing the ground for trouble if its scuttled is hard to say." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I agree completely with your assessment, but not with your doubt about what that initial vote was. Looks like he is setting up another war. Wall-to-wall anti-SCOTUS blitz for the whole month of April and into June to intimidate and threaten the Supreme Court.
I agree 100%. She either told her “partner” who relayed it or she just picked up the phone. There is no way that the person that wrote and prepared the defense and hired the people that put on the defense and who assisted the defense in court and refused to recuse herself didn’t inform her boss. This was why she was appointed.
For me, the key is a Ginsberg resignation. If she decided to hang up her robe this year, instead of 2014/2015 we know all is lost for Obama. She is his last opportunity to pack the court.
Perhaps channeling Slate:
"If it overturns Obamacare, the Supreme Court will have revealed its radical nature."

"Trust me - I'm a Constitutional Perfessor ..."
I would like to propose a simple definition of judicial activism in the context of our constitutional arrangements, including checks and balances. Judicial activism is the adjudication of cases in a fashion which produces a result inconsistent with the language and intent of the constitution. The “action” in the “activism” is essentially altering the constitution, usually for the purpose of achieving a desire outcome. Striking down a measure which radically expands the power of the government is the virtual opposite of judicial activism or, judicial restraint.
Obama, the brilliant constitutional scholar (major sarc)knows this but uses the word “activism” to confuse the public into thinking that any significant action by the court is “activism”. As dramatic as striking down 0-care would be, it is actually circumscribing government power within the language of the constitution.
“Hes like a cat backed into a corner right now.” I agree w/the thought but, in my experience, “rat” would be more accurate.
