Four GOP Candidates Certified for U.S. Senate Primary -- All four now invited to three RPV sponsored debates --
Statement from RPV Chairman Pat Mullins:
"I want to congratulate Jamie Radtke, Bob Marshall, George Allen, and E.W. Jackson on their certification to appear on the June 12 GOP U.S. Senate primary ballot.
All four are now officially invited to take part in the three debates that RPV will hold later this spring. Congratulations to all four of our great candidates!"
I thought you guys already had your primary.
That was the presidential primary. This one is for Senate and House seats.
Guess they finally figured out we want VARIETY and a lot of it on that Republican ticket in a primary. They're political toast anyway. No one can ever live down what they did for Romney.
An open Senate seat so what’s the speculation on how it will come down? Are the democrats fielding any candidates in the Governors race?
So you are going to have another primary? What was that a few weeks ago you has for Romney?
It will probably be Allen vs. Kaine for Senate. I’m afraid the Tea Party vote will be split in the primary and Allen will win. It disappoints me but that’s what I think will happen. It will then be the battle of the former governors. I think there’s enough voter fraud in NoVa, Tidewater and Charlottesville that it will be a close race. We haven’t heard the last of macaca either. It will be ugly, no doubt.
The governor’s race is not this November - it’s November 2013. I’m sure the Dems will field a candidate. I haven’t heard any rumors about who yet - people are more focused on this pivotal election. I am supporting Cucinelli for governor. Bill Bolling reminds me too much of Huckabee and I believe he was behind the presidential petition fiasco. Even with Bolling clearing the field for Romney, he couldn’t get over 60% of the vote. Besides, I really hate the “it’s his turn” mentality that pervades Republican politics. It’s supposedly Bolling’s ‘turn’. Ugh.
THAt was cheating
How many primaries do you guys have up the the northeastern part of the south? As many as it takes to rig the elections? Do you have a third primary for your state positions? A fourth for local elections?
Bob Marshall is the one to support, IMO.
I’ll wait to see which one Karl Rove wants, and then I’ll know which one NOT to vote for.
Dude - I don’t know you but please...
The House and Senate primaries had to wait until the redistricting was approved by DOJ.
I’m sure had the State Board of Elections had their way, there would have only been one primary. But the presidential primary was held because of issues related to the presidential race. The House and Senate are being held in June because of redistricting.
We won’t have the primary for the governor’s race until next year since that election is November 2013. It depends on the locality - usually they try to have primaries when there are other elections going on - it’s expensive and reduces turnout to run elections piecemeal.
Try to keep up.
You are so right....
I’m sure he’ll bash Jamie Radke - he really hates the Tea Party. He’ll be all for Allen with the constant reminder of macaca. I can hear it now. “Allen has the best record, blah, blah, blah, but macaca will continue to haunt him.”
Dude, you Virginians can’t keep up with your own state-level political elites’ shennanigans; scattering their primaries throughout the year to rig the results. Why should people from the other 50 states try to?
Here is a reason for you people in Virginia should demand a single unified primary date; having to have them scattered out is “expensive and reduces turnout to run elections piecemeal”.
Oh yeah, you said that.
Liberal Clintonite Terry McAuliff will run for the Democrat nomination.
Rumor is that Mark Warner may quit the senate, run for Governor then appoint his replacement if he wins. This is more likely if a strong Republican, Ken Cuccinelli, wins the Republican nomination.
We need a VERY STRONG candidate for the Governor’s race. That Republican is Conservative, Ken Cuccinelli, our present Attorney General.
Clearly, you don’t know how to read. And I don’t have time to teach you.
Re-read my post.
In a non-redistricting year, there would be only one primary. This year isn’t that. Per the Voting Rights Act, our redistricting plans must be approved by DOJ. Redistricting doesn’t affect presidential primaries - it does effect other primaries.
Get over yourself already. Do you even live in Virginia? Do you even have a clue?
Clearly you are too stupid to know this forum is not restricted to Virginians, and nobody cares you Virginians got yourselves put under the Voting Rights Act by trying to keep minorities from being represented by cheating.
Now, nobody really cares that you must have multiple primaries as a result of your past cheating, so quit whining and blaming the DOJ. Man up, you brought it on yourselves.
New Yorker.
Now there's a surprise. /sarc
