If Martin was fighting, his knuckles would’ve been bruised - that was the point of what the funeral director said.
Whether or not he really was bruised from fighting - who knows at this point. There is too much misinformation from both sides floating around.

The funeral director is black and probably serves the black community. He knows where his bread is buttered. Also, I would assume any funeral director with any kind of professional integrity would refuse to discuss the condition of any remains. I wonder if he violated any code of conduct for morticians

Including from the funeral director who is obviously not a coroner. Bruising takes time, the amount of time depending upon many factors. One does NOT bruise after death.
