Gingrich Hopes To Team Up With Santorum In Last-Ditch Attempt To Stop Romney Winning GOP Nomination

Gingrich Hopes To Team Up With Santorum In Last-Ditch Attempt To Stop Romney Winning GOP Nomination 31 March 2012 With polls showing Newt Gingrich trailing in fourth place for the upcoming Wisconsin primary he is already getting his back up plans in place with talks of a joint ticket with Rick Santorum.

As Gingrich’s hopes fade for gaining ground in the next primary his state campaign director has announced a shifting of goals focusing on winning the support of ‘soft delegates’ after Tuesday’s vote.

These so-called 'soft delegates' amount to Wisconsin's three Republican National Committee delegates and the three delegates from each of the eight congressional districts who could become unbound at the convention.

Hanging in there: Newt Gingrich's camp are now talking of a shared Gingrich-Santorum ticket

'Newt is going to be focusing on soft delegates, unbound delegates, and of course all of the delegates are unbound after the second ballot,' Lorge told FOX News.

Gingrich's strategy hinges on preventing front-runner Mitt Romney from winning the 1,144 delegates he needs for the nomination. And Lorge revealed discussions that the ex-House speaker may consolidate the delegates he wins over with those supporting Santorum in a bid to overcome Romney’s lead.

'I imagine there's going to be a lot of negotiation and compromising between the pro-Newt Gingrich and the pro-Rick Santorum delegates,' Lorge said. 'You may have a Newt Gingrich-Rick Santorum ticket. You may have a Rick Santorum-Newt Gingrich ticket. Nobody knows how that ticket's going to work out. But I imagine it'll end up being something like that.'

I’ve been off this forum for more than 40 days. Probably no one has noticed or cares.

Have given up alcohol and red meat for Lent along with shutting down the TV esp the news outlets including Fox. Haven’t listened to Rush during this time and alas haven’t read or posted on FR until this AM.

What have I learned? My friends, I’ve learned what we’ve expected. The media, from all sides, bombards us 24/7 with their propaganda. This includes Rush, Hannity etc.

Secondly, nothing really newsworthy has happened during this time. So, again, I’m glad I’ve focused on my own spirtual reawakening instead of that which is focused in the media, and even here.

The only thing important is what we do each day to ourselves and those around us.

I have no respect for the likes of Ann Coulter and even Michelle Malkam has let me down. IT’s clear that the story is and will always be about them.

This country is in trouble we all know that. All we can do, is in are own little way make each day brighter for someone else.

I think of this daily and even more now with the start of Holy Week.

WE WILL WORK AGAINST ROMNEY AND THE GOP IF THEY ARE ONE.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn't make any sense at all.""

Unfit for any public office, VP or otherwise..

Santorum Pronounces Zimmerman Guilty Before Trial, or Charge

Republican presidential contender Sen. Rick Santorum appeared on CBS' Face the Nation this morning and pronounced George Zimmerman guilty of murder in the first degree.

Admitting that he was "not privy to what’s going on in someone’s mind," Santorum nevertheless said that Zimmerman, who shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin while participating in a neighborhood watch last month, "has a very sick mind who would pursue someone like this." He added that Zimmerman's motive had been "malicious."

The mental state of the alleged perpetrator, the motive, and the question of whether he pursued the alleged victim, are both critical in determining guilt. Santorum's conclusions are consistent with first-degree murder under Florida law.

As a lawyer, Santorum ought to know that Zimmerman would be entitled to a presumption of innocence if he were facing trial--and he has not even been charged with a crime.

Gingrich couldn’t have pulled it off. He was lagging in women voters, and couldn’t carry the south. Something that Santorum was able to do.

Newt’s ego has done him in and probably tanked our chances of winning the WH this election as well. I hope not - but, Romney has a problem with conservatives.

This whole scenario stinks to high heaven.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but, Newt CAN’T win. He carried only 2 states. What universe do you live in? Newt is unelectable - I don’t understand why his supporters can’t see this. Do I think he would be a better president than what we now have? Heck yeah, but, his time has come and gone, and he is broke as well.

I suggest his supporters buy themselves a dose of reality.

Wisconsin is obviously the big prize on Tuesday, but DC and Maryland are also having primaries that day, and Santorum isn't even on the ballot in DC (worth 16 delegates). But even further out - April 24th - doesn't look too good for Santorum with the possible exception of Pennsylvania. The math just gets harder and harder for him, and there are still some states where he didn't file complete slates of delegate - West Virginia for sure and also Indiana (last I heard he was missing some delegates).

Still, would be pretty interesting to watch a contested convention on CSPAN.

Once again... nothing is Santorum's fault.

I have never said or even implied that. What I have said is that the constant harping and insults thrown at Santorum in order to try and make Newt look better, served no good purpose.

Fact is it served to help Romney more than it did Newt, and it brings into question where the true loyalty of those posters lie.

"primary voters are telling us all we need to know."

That simply isn't true...the Media is telling the voters what THEY think the voter needs to know, anything otherwise is blocked.....Therefore the voters are misinformed and for that vote on incomplete or false assumptions manufactured and or framed by the media and their pundits.

What I have said is that the constant harping and insults thrown at Santorum in order to try and make Newt look better.

Newt doesn't need anything from Santorum to make him look better, positive or negative. Newt stands alone by his own record of accomplishments and his plans for bringing this nation back to it's place as a nation Under God and abiding by the Constitution...and he's proved as much by his History and his current statements and speeches.

Santorum needs to be vetted, and what he is about, his agenda, his history and his reasons for running. Too few know of this and he needs to be exposed just as all other candidates.

There is no question where the loyalty of posters opposing Santorum lie.... Rather a strong conviction that Newt is the only candidate who is steadfast at taking out Obama and preventing Romney from this Primary win....with the means and ability to do so. Every chance should be given to see this come about.

Santorum is in this to win for himself....Newt is in this to win for the nation and to give back to God His Sovereignty over it.

There is a problem with that line of reasoning because it didn’t work with Reagan and certainly not with the primary voters in SC and GA or the 11 states that have gone for Santorum. I think much of this is a function of demographics and a welter of negative ads.

Reagan did not advance until June. It’s that simple.

Yes, they maybe true, but, it's not to late.
What the media, the establishment, Romney and his people don't want people to know is that Rick Santourm next month could very well surpass Mitt Romney in the delegate count.
They are very afraid and scared that Romney is on the verge of losing it all to Rick Santorum.
