In the wake of the press's nonstop hyperventilating regarding the Trayvon Martin issue, Fox News's Bill O'Reilly appropriately asked Friday, "Is the media now inciting racial violence?"
In his opening Talking Points Memo, O'Reilly also pointed a finger at Al Sharpton and Roland Martin saying, "MSNBC and CNN to some extent have a vested interest in seeing Zimmerman punished because they've already found him guilty on the air" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
BILL O'REILLY: Hi, I'm Bill O'Reilly. Thanks for watching us tonight.
Is the media now inciting racial violence? That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points" memo. It was pathetic last night watching the prime time cable opinion programs whip up the Trayvon Martin case to dangerous levels. As "Talking Points" has been reporting the media is exploiting the terrible death of 17-year-old Trayvon by convicting the man who shot him, George Zimmerman, of wrong doing on television.
Now let's step back for a moment. What if the Florida special prosecutor decides there is not enough evidence to prosecute Mr. Zimmerman? What if that happens? It could because of Florida's complicated "Stand Your Ground" law which has muddled the case.
MSNBC and CNN to some extent have a vested interest in seeing Zimmerman punished because they've already found him guilty on the air. So they are not going to respect any verdict but guilty. Therefore those entities will tell the American public that racial injustice has been done if there is not a conviction and that could very well lead to violence as we saw in the Rodney King case.
Those riots in 1992 and I was right in the middle of them led to 58 people -- 58 being killed and a billion dollars worth of damage. That absolutely could happen in the Trayvon Martin case. Leading the charge to convict Zimmerman is Al Sharpton.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SHARPTON: This is not about self-defense. This is about a man deciding somebody based on who he was, was a suspect and that he would take matters in his own hands.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
O'REILLY: Sharpton as you know has a daily one hour program on MSNBC and as I said has already found Zimmerman guilty on the air.
The same thing with CNN commentator Roland Martin.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MARTIN: They gave George Zimmerman the benefit of the doubt because of who he is and they simply saw Trayvon Martin and I guarantee you in their minds they probably saying oh, young black kid, wearing a hoodie George has got to be right.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
O'REILLY: All right, so you can seen the racial animus is already being stirred up on national TV. Now that's flat out dangerous. And the media companies responsible should be held accountable if any violence breaks out.
Ted Baxter gets lucky.
BOR = day late, dollar short, as usual.
'Is the Media Now Inciting Racial Violence?'
Ya think?
Roland Martin? I don't have a TV. Is Laugh In still on TV? A joke, comedy, nonsense still on the air? Wot? It's called CNN. The most busted news source.. that CNN?
Yup.
You can’t slip anything past BOR.
/facepalm
[he really should read what’s written here -much- earlier than he apparently does]
” Ted Baxter gets lucky. “
Until someone remembers that FNC has a long history of being in the forefront of any number of “Media Lynch Mobs” over the years..
They whipped up the Rodney King riots by playing a seven-second clip of a 15-minute video around the clock for years on end, so of course they are trying to incite race riots.
Roland Martin is no joke...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQbM19znBQk
Welcome to the Party Bill!
I’ve been saying the same thing for several days now. I’m not sure how the Justice system would look at it but as far as I am concerned MSNBC, ABC, CNN etc. have crossed the line. Yes they are inciting violence both racial and otherwise and they MUST be held accountable for their words and deeds.
Don’t forget our “first post-racial” pres. His son would look like “little Trayvon” . Gold caps, tats, middle finger, gang lingo, and all.
His "Fair and Balanced" is as usual, protecting the Fascist, Neo-Commie, Obama and his racist, corrupt, Attorney General.
Bill is as he is wont to do, giving the Won the benefit of the doubt.
My post:
So I'm listening to Bill O’Reilly’s opening commentary last night. It was about the Treyvon Martin shooting. Anout half-way through his commentary O’Reilly says this:
O’Reilly: Listen to this 911 call by Zimmerman that may contain a racial slur:
Dispatcher: Okay. Which entrance is that that he's heading towards?
Zimmerman: The back entrance...f***** [unintelligible]...
Perhaps with the aid of a computer program, some official will figure out what the “unintelligible” was. But I didn't hear any racial slur. And neither did O’Reilly. Because on O’Reilly’s screen was “unintelligible”, not a slur.
O’Reilly is actually “middle-of-the road.” He labels himself as independent, and this is an accurate description. Many in the media keep calling him a conservative only because he is far more open minded that 90% of the media.

BOR wakes up and sees the MSM telling lies. Bill you might want to read the FR more.
Just what is so terrible about Martin getting killed? He had a quick and easy death, justified due to his terrible beating of George. (How many times do the media refer to George by his first name?)
When a young white couple were carjacked, tortured and raped by a gang of blacks, over many hours before being mutilated to death, well, that was terrible. When a young white boy was set upon by black thugs and gasoline poured on him and set ablaze, that was terrible. Crickets from the media. The MSM is full of idiotic thugs that should be ashamed of themselves.
That’s right, and after the jury (who saw the whole video) cleared the cops blacks were outraged because of the selected information they had been provided. In any case, most (if not all) of those killed were black, and now they get to travel further to do their shopping; how did that work out for them?
150 years after the Civil War and we still don’t know what to do about the war contraband...
Wish I hadn’t posted this. It’s turning into just a bash O’Reilly-bash Foxnews thread.
Roland Martin should shut his hushpuppy trap and go back to the only thing he does well: catch fish — unless he is now too senile to do so...
