Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama holds a double-digit lead over GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in hypothetical general election matchups, according to a new poll.
And a CNN/ORC International survey released Wednesday also indicates that the president's approval rating has inched over the 50% mark in CNN surveys for the first time since last May, when the polls were still registering the after effects of the death of Osama bin Laden. The number of Americans who say the economy's in good shape has jumped 13 points since January, though the survey shows a majority still think it is in poor shape.

I’ll consider the source, but then I wouldn’t be surprised if this were true. Both are reprehensible big government candidates who slept through junior high Civis and would oversee more spending and the worsening of our economy. This will of course allow some other liberal in 4 years to sweep into office on empty promises of hope and change. The GOP is truly The Stupid Party.
Go get a good cigar and a nice 12 year old scotch, kick off your shoes, throw the recliner back, listen to Rush {or some good music}, smoke and sip and relax.
We are going to kick the halfrican's skinny white ass all the way back to chicago via kenya.
It is going to be a landslide if not, lock and load.
“Registered voters.”
Sample probably packed with Dems.
So, according to this stupid poll (which I think is bogus), Santorum is also way behind Obama. So how is nominating Santorum going to increase our chance of victory? Please explain.
Funny.
I remember how we on FR (including me) were all denying the polls that showed Obama was going to win almost up to the time the results were announced.
I’ll keep saying it, this will be a squeaker at best.
Here’s the actual poll http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2012/images/03/28/rel3d.pdf
52% of the respondents approve of Obama, even more think George Bush and the Republicans are to blame for coubtry’s problems.
I’m betting you are right.
So assuming Mit comes out of the convention as the guy we are already in trouble. All hussein has to do is get gas to drop about 25¢ and he’ll win. JMHO
Holy $h!+ !!!!!!! ,,,, I can’t believe 0bama is ahead in a CNN poll ,,,,, what next he wins a MSNBC poll ,,, or a Politico poll ,,, what’s this conntry coming to ??? ,, just too hard to believe ,,,, ( Do I have to include SARC at the end ??? )
polls ,blah , they want people question their support for Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum ,just a scam , nothing to see here move along
4 more years of Obama and the total destruction of great USA are certain if either Romney or Santorum is nominated.
Depression but we as the nation deserve it! We have abandoned God.
The Republicans haven’t started their campaign against Obama. That won’t happen until after the convention. Then many more voters will take a closer look at both Candidates.
Right now Obama is receiving negligible criticism from the mainstream media the Republican Primary is getting negligible coverage unless it is negative.
The fact that this vile, incompetent, far left fraud leads any earthly creature in a poll, including a dead cockroach, indicates the Republic is finished.
Algae should be leading in a poll against this moron.
That sword cuts both ways. Obama and his allies have, for the most part, kept their powder dry, too. We haven't begun to hear about the warts of Romney and Santorum. The Democrats have amassed a huge file of material on Romney knowing that he had a good chance to get the nomination. Why would they do us a favor and release it now when we still have a chance to nominate someone else? Once Romney gets the nomination, the demonization begins and unfortunately, we will find out that he is a target-rich environment.
Reread the article. It says, “adults”, not “registered voters”. You are right about one thing, CNN probably went down into Harlem, Watts and other minority neighborhoods and way oversampled Obama supporters.
Sarah isn’t running.
> Sarah isnt running.
Yeah, I know.
Just dreaming that the convention will be deadlocked and she’ll get drafted.
I can dream, can’t I?
Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah! Draft Sarah!
I think the Obama Administration is more target-rich than Romney. I further think that Romney should focus his criticism on the Obama Administration, not Obama himself. Obama is personally liked by a lot of people who aren’t real attuned to the various issues. We need a change of leadership that goes beyond just replacing Obama.
