House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) is expected to endorse Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney before Wisconsin's GOP primary next Tuesday, according to media reports.
Ryan would be the latest in a string of high-profile endorsements for Romney this week, as party leaders have increasingly coalesced around the former Massachusetts governor's campaign. The Wisconsin lawmaker would join popular freshman Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former president George H. W. Bush in signaling support for Romney this week.

Voting for Romney sends the clear signal that the “Tea Party” will fall in line, so we really need a center / left nominee to compete for the Democrat votes.
Of course, the Dems will never vote for one of our liberals over one of their own, so all we really do is demoralize our own base. At least the Dims are smart enough to realize this, that is why they never nominate a candidate that is even marginally conservative. They understand it is more important to keep your own base than to try and convince the other side that you are really one of them.
Amen, brother!
Well since we’re past the point where RS could win outright we’ve talking about the “brokered convention” deal and they are all terrifed that would be a disaster. That’s why prominent figures are going for Romney now. The real a-holes are the ones who backed him early. I’m not mad at Ryan.
Phil Collins thinks the excitement would help us.
The GOP is not and has never been “my” party, and I don’t care what the majority of any party says. Voting 3 does not take a vote from anyone and doesn’t give votes to anyone except 3.
Considering that I wrote "If what you mean by faithful is I want to dictate to everyone exactly how they should live their lives (as I interpret it via my faith)" and that you take that to mean the above... it stands to reason that your idea of a good Christian is one that dictates what others do and think.
Therefore, I will be a good Christian for you. I order you to tithe 10% of your earnings to charity and to only speak good of others. Furthermore, you will not view porn on the internet as I define it. Failure to comply will result in criminal proceedings against you, jail time, and loss of employment opportunities due to a criminal record.
Happy? I've met your unstated, but implied, mandate to be a good "Christian Conservative".
Mittens is going to be nominee. It’s sickening to write that.
Right... Care to point out where *THAT* came from?
With that logic, the word “Right” is what you view as the most important word in this post.
And that “Timber” is more important than Rattler in your callsign.
Sheesh!
Do you agree that a brokered convention would help us? If that happens, whom do you hope will be nominated, other than the four current candidates? I hope that at least one of the candidates would be a conservative who has been a governor and has also been a cabinet member, U.S. senator, congressman, and/or national party chairman. Some good candidates would be Dirk Kemthorne, John Ashcroft, Haley Barbour, and Bobby Jindal.
“I think Obama is going to win and he is going to have coat tails. A lot of People who dislike Obama will just stay home, because they will dislike Romney more.”
Then those people are fools. There’s NOTHING worse than Obama. NOTHING.
That’s awesome work Cripplecreek. What did you say that website is where you make those?
“We are now at the stage, the 4th quarter, where many conservatives become weary and start to give up. That is what they want; it is what they EXPECT, just like in 2008.
They have these trivial endorsements lined up throughout the campaign like todays Rubio endorsement. They are sequenced. They are choreographed. They are scheduled long in advance. The Rubio, Ryan and Bush endorsements have likely been on the calender from day one. They are designed to cause disillusionment, to make you think it is time to get in line and drink the poison from their trough with the rest of them.”

I don’t know Phil, I think it could hurt or help, I have no idea how it would play out. There were no TV cameras the last time there was a real free for all.
I think that there would only be a slim chance someone other than Santorum or Romney would be nominated. (zero chance for Paul or Newt) One of them would probably have to withdraw and free their delegates for it to happen.
“Some good candidates would be Dirk Kemthorne, John Ashcroft, Haley Barbour, and Bobby Jindal.”
Kempthorne is an unknown from Idaho. Barbour is a fat southern lobbyist turned Governor who left office handing out questionable pardons. Ashcroft is a polarizing figure and served during the unpopular Bush administration. I would not pick any of those. Jindal is okay with me but he got poor marks for his SOTU reply a few years back that really put the brakes on the Presidential speculation for him.
I definitely would not want a great big bunch of new candidates to turn it into a circus. I’d be looking for 1 guy who could lock it up and then clean Obama’s clock.
If the Governor of Wisconsin is, as we expect, coming off a win in his stupid recall election then he would be my first choice.
With Friends like this, Paul Ryan, who needs enemies.
Is that your prayer for Sarah? No wonder why Sarah did not run.
Write-ins are not usually even counted; many states don’t allow them. TX allows them only if one is a “declared” write-in candidate, but most voters are too uninformed to write in the name.
Palin’s endorsement is different from Ryan or Rubio. Palin announced he voted for Newt, but never directly endorse Newt.
Ryan and Rubio endorsed Romney at the middle of the Primaries and wanting us to stop the whole process. In contrast, Palin wants the process to continue.
If Romney eventually wins and Palin, at that stage, supports and help Romney's candidacy, then there is nothing wrong with that. After all, she's a Republican.
Palin’s situation is totally different from us. We can easily say we go third party. Palin, by doing that, will be demonized by both GOP and DEMs as SELFISH and SELF-SERVING HYPOCRITE!
At this stage, we should have already been thanking Sarah. She has never said any “below-the-belt” words or invented any lies against all the candidates, including Ron Paul.
Yes, but remember it is the American people who don't want our vote or even their votes, it seems, to count.
