Oh, good, Rush is explaining severability. This is a new take on it to me. Would Congress have enacted the bill without the individual mandate? I think the Dems took out the clause because they knew Obamacare would never work without it. I’ll bet they never thought it would become the defining issue of the program.

I’ll bet Mark Levin has discussed the severability issue at length. I’ve missed EVERYTHING this week!

Dems could have put ANYTHING in 0bamacare, they didn’t put a severability clause on purpose.

Because they knew they wouldn't be able to make the program work without guaranteed, forced funding from the taxpayers, right?

I think because they were too arrogant.

OR and more plausible.

They were too stupid to read the entire bill to find out.

The letter of the law depends on the alphabet you use...lol and so true...especially if you use Critical Alphabet Theory...

So...Black trumps all? But what if Zimmerman was disabled in some way...would that “up”’Zimmerman’s status? Can he come out as gay and/or transgendered...would that help? Maybe convert to Islam...

Agreed, I’ve been wondering what the legalities of severability are, so this is great. In sum, since Congress specifically removed the severability provision, it will be very difficult (never say impossible) for the SCOTUS to say any part of the bill is constitutional if they throw out the mandate. Really good news!

And being a music-lover (although not the kind being discussed) and thrill-seeker myself I’d just note that Earl Scruggs passed away yesterday and suggest spending a few minutes appreciating this mans talent and wide circle of friends: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQIJuu3N5EY

Re The libs are already in denial about 0care....

Shoot, I know of libs who are still so torn up about the Citizens United decision that they’re about to chew off their own fingers if the subject even occurs to them in a daydream.

JMHO, they can’t be in denial. They’re all doing what they do best and most consistently: Act exactly like a bunch of spoiled rotten two-year-olds, cry and scream until they get their way and throw unholy tantrums if they ever hear or imagine they hear the word “No”.

I hit the post button too soon.

It is a gorgeous day here on the Plains and spring is coming to a close, moving to an early summer. Summer is my favorite season.

Tomorrow it may rain here and I hope it does. It has been a week or so since our last rain and time for it.

When are y’all coming down? My daughter graduates in May and, I’m going to brag now, MAGNA CUM LAUDE! She takes after her aunt, and her grandmother. The “study gene” did not land on me.
