Obama Camp: GOP Criticism on Trayvon Martin Case Is ‘Abysmal, Despicable’
National Journal ^ | March 28, 2012

NationalJournal - The Obama campaign responded on Wednesday to criticism from two GOP candidates regarding his remarks on the Trayvon Martin killing, condemning their remarks with strong words of their own.

“I think it’s abysmal, despicable that people like Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum are trying to make this a divisive issue,” said Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s deputy campaign manager, on CNN’s Starting Point, adding that “they should watch their own words.”

Obama’s people are trying to start riots over this thing and they don’t even know what really happened.

I spent some time looking at border city newspapers this am. Trayvon seems to have disappeared as a story except for in FL. This is suggestive of the story not redounding to the racist/bolsheliks’ benefit. Time to fade to the next manufactured outrage.

EXCERPTS

In Trayvon’s case, (Parks & Crump) alerted the news media more quickly. They phoned the Rev. Al Sharpton almost instantly, and organized marches with local civil rights activists. They also started pressing for federal involvement and alleging a cover-up from the get-go.

(snip)

“In court, you have the jury,” Crump says. “Our job is to get the case to a jury. We need to fight first in the court of public opinion. The jury is the American people.”

Someone Must Be Punished for Killing Trayvon Martin, Says Mom Sybrina Fulton
by Allison Samuels Mar 22, 2012 2:04 AM EDT

EXCERPT

The now controversial killing of Trayvon garnered virtually no mainstream media attention in the days immediately after he was fatally shot, but that all changed when the teenager’s parents decided to hire civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump and his law firm to get more answers on exactly how and why their son died.

“They called me the same day they were notified that their son was dead,’’ Crump told The Daily Beast. “When I heard their unarmed teenage son was shot to death, I just knew there’d be an arrest shortly. There wasn’t an arrest 48 hours later, and then I knew we’d have to take this outside of Sanford if we wanted justice.’’

Trayvon’s parents were told by the Sanford police that Zimmerman wasn’t arrested in their son’s death because the facts of the case did not dispute his claim of self-defense.

For Crump, taking the Trayvon Martin story outside of Sanford simply entailed dialing up a few well-placed friends such as the Rev. Al Sharpton. Crump worked closely with the civil rights leader in 2006 on another racially charged case—the controversial death of a 14-year-old, African-American inmate of a Florida boot camp.

“I had to call people like Sharpton and a few other black civil rights leaders and the black media to tell them about this story,’’ said Crump. “I had to get them to understand what happened to this young man and what hadn’t happened in his case so they could spread the word.’’

Historically, cases of murder and violence against blacks in the United States rarely have been given the same amount of attention as cases in which the victims of crime are white—and often go unnoticed and unprosecuted.

Just days after hearing the details of Trayvon’s death, Sharpton arranged to have Crump and the teenager’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, on his syndicated radio show and his popular MSNBC show, Politics Nation, to tell their story.

(snip)

In the wake of non-stop media attention from the likes of Sharpton and CNN’s Don Lemon concerning the Trayvon Martin case, black media blogs such as MediaTakeOut.com and Huffington Post Black Voices also began publishing accounts and editorials about the Florida case—daily. Almost instantly, readers of all races, ages, and backgrounds began tweeting and posting on Facebook their outrage over how the police have handled the case, and the lack of an arrest in the shooting. To date, almost 1 million people have signed a Change.Org petition to have Zimmerman arrested. In response to the widespread outrage, the Justice Department has opened an investigation into the shooting.

There are no negative, distasteful words the Obama team can call the GOP that doesn't go for them 10 fold. Ingrates.

.

While the Zimmerman/Martin ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating, rape and murder of the elderly white couple by a gang of feral blacks in Oklahoma just last week?

The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten and his jaw broken. He was shot in the face numerous times with a BB gun and sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The 85 year old partially blind wife was RAPED and then BEATEN TO DEATH.

Can you just imagine the pain, the humiliation, the horror that dear old lady experienced being gang raped by that pack of feral animals? (the autopsy states she was raped.
Don’t think these animals didn’t all participate)
And can you imagine the pain, the horror of that dear old husband having to witness this?

There’s a lot more involved here than a home invasion and robbery.

WHERE ARE THE CHARGES OF A RACIAL HATE CRIME??

90 year old husband’s jaw broken and shot in face with a BB gun numerous times?

85 wife year old semi blind wife RAPED and BEATEN to death??

Where is the 24/7 MSM coverage?

Why does it take a foreign press to enlighten America as to this henious crime?

Where is the outrage?

Obama and his accomplices, including the media, have inflated this story I’m order to start a civil war, which will allow Obama to implement the emergency powers he has given himself, and thereby seize power as dictator.

Of course, most people, including the other two branches of government, either aren’t aware of it or are ignoring it. By the time they wake up, it will be too late

This “blame others for what you are actually doing” thing is getting old and transparent. I think he is worried about losing the hispanic vote. He is now trying to blame the GOP for his own shortcomings (again) hoping to get some of them (hispanic voters) back. I think it is too late. Time will tell.

What an embarrassingly pathetic attempt to turn things inside out. Really, really pathetic. Obama’s comments force these people to go in front of the public, and destroy their own reputations by having to make such idiotic statements.

LOL! Obama is at least consistent on politicizing every issue.

Obama has not said one word about the bounty that the New Black Panthers have placed on George Martin’s head.

Obama has said nothing about Spike Lee tweeting the address of George Zimmerman’s parents’ home, forcing them to hide out in a motel.

Instead, the Obama campaign is selling hoodies, similar the one that Trayvon Martin was wearing.

If a “civil war” starts, not that I agree with the term, why do you think that Obama will be in power for more than a few weeks?
