We can all use some good news, right about now. ;)

My personal theory is that people who eat chocolate satisfy their cravings with a small amount of chocolate, those who don't, eat other, higher calorie foods, while trying to deprive themselves of chocolate and end up eating more.

There was a lady where I used to work who was half Hispanic and addicted to Milk Duds and always had those and miniature Hershey bars in her candy dish. She was about 5’ 8” and not a lb over 130. She won a Triathlon at age 35 or so and participated in it when she was 40 and 45.

I agree. I know that I do this myself. I’ll try not to eat chocolate...then I end up eating the chocolate cake, which has the added detrimental quality of all the bad carbs.

So eating a big bag of M&M's watching tv is healthy now?? I'll let my chubby husband know that it is A-OK to that. lol I'm still staying away from chocolate, it makes me hungrier and I want more and more.

What explains the effect? Even though chocolate can be loaded with calories, it's full of antioxidants and other ingredients that may promote weight loss, the researchers said.

In other words, "chocolate is good for you."

Thanks for this great news.

"My personal theory is that people who eat chocolate satisfy their cravings with a small amount of chocolate, "

I think the secret to eating chocolate is to let it melt in your mouth. Savor it. By that time, sweet cravings have been satisfied.

I have 2 lbs of dark chocolate and 2 lbs of white chocolate in the freezer. They're taking up a lot of space.

I will now have to force myself to eat a little bit each week. I'll schedule Wednesdays and Saturdays for this chore.

I think it’s also good to point out thatthis must be dark chocolate, not the sugar stuffed milk-chocolate (though I admit, I prefer milk chocolate :)
