Death threats and a $10,000 bounty offered for a citizen's arrest of George Zimmerman have raised concerns about the threat of "vigilante justice" in the racially charged case.
A group identifying itself as the New Black Panther Party is offering $10,000 to anyone who makes a citizen's arrest of George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin slaying.

This is starting to play out like a bad novel. A group of white supremacists could volunteer to guard Zimmerman, followed by a bloody shootout with Black Panthers. The LSM and the 0bama Regime would fan the flames and all out race war would ensue. Beam me up Scotty.

This is why it is prudent to have more than one gun. I would go as far as recommending a minimum of three handguns: one for carry, a second one as a spare, and a third kept at a trusted relative's house (or some other alternate location) in case all your firearms at your home are confiscated.

If the police know there are credible threats to the life and safety of Zimmerman, aren't they required to eliminate those threats? I would say that a wanted poster with my picture on it, along with a price on my head equals a credible threat.

The police MAY offer protection, but there is no legal requirement for them to do so, and no legal consequences for failing to protect you from any harm.
Is there any evidence that the people putting out the wanted posters are in the jurisdiction of the Sanford police department?
Realistically, the police don't even have a legal responsibility not to pull their squad cars out of an area where a riot is going on. There may be political consequences to doing so, but no court will ever hold them liable.
