ALBANY - State Senate Democrats put on hooded sweatshirts to protest the death of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed teen allegedly gunned down by neighborhood crime watch captain in Florida.
At an Capitol news conference, Sen. Eric Adams, D-Brooklyn, denounced the killing of Martin, who, he said, carried nothing but "Skittles and god-damned ice tea."
The Senators discussed the case as groups around the country, including members of the NBA's Miami Heat, have put on the sweatshirts or "hoodies" to decry the 17-year-old's killing.
Martin, who was black, was shot on Feb. 26, allegedly by a neighborhood watch captain, George Zimmerman, 32. Martin was wearing a hooded sweatshirt as he walked through a gated community on the way to the home of his father's girlfriend.
Zimmerman, who is white and Latino, has claimed he fired on the unarmed teen in self defense. The killing, and the lack of criminal charges, have caused outrage in Sanford, the Florida community where the death occurred, an protests around the country.

Anyone wearing a hoodie can be suspect to crime in my book.
Adding... on a warm day or night.
Can't really dis them. They only showing who they and their constituents really are. Slaves to a system and ideology they support.
And in fact they are behaving as Martin did. When they are asked to be accountable they beat the crap out of the people they are suppose to represent through cronyism programs creating higher debt and regular lectures on how they are “suppose” to think.
I really do not see much difference between Martin asking Zimm if “he had a problem” and then beating the crap out of him and what these representatives do to their people everyday
I be countin fi o dem. Yo, is dey axin questions?
I agree with you. These race pimps we have today don’t hold a candle to the black leaders of yesterday. Martin Luther King, Fredrick Douglas, Vivien Thomas, Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas, and Bill Cosby are head and shoulders above the trash that the MSM holds up as the leaders of the black community.
Trayvon’s mother trademarks her son’s name as merchandise hits stands throughout Florida.
Yes. We suck.
What I like about New York...
The landscape
The hunting
Some Deli’s and Restaurants
Lots of water
The fishing
The camping
Other than that, well....
Idiots!
Come on. Really? That’s you?
Fraid so. I was additudinal about something that day.
This whole thing is totally out of hand.... Where did the innocent UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY clause go?
I live in Florida and agree with the Stand Your Ground law. I am truly disgusted with the crooks and criminals always having the benefit of the doubt when the law abiding citizen is hung out to dry. Our elected officials have to change, it is up to us to make the change and get the country back on track. Our elected officials should not take sides on any issue until the due process has been completed, UNLESS they have other motives which it seems like they do!
Gee, I notice they are all black...
How dare the elected officials take sides before the due process has been completed!
Where is the INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?
I am so sick of the crooks and criminals get an easy ride or benefit of the doubt when law abiding citizens get the shaft. The RACE card should be worn out by now, but I guess we all are NOT CREATED EQUAL and TREATED EQUAL!
The Trayvon “crisis” in a nutshell: The predators are scared zhitless that their prey are shooting back.
Yeah, around here too cc. Geez, I almost bought one the other day at Dollar General as they are having a fantastic sale.
This culture has sullied words, sullied our children’s minds, and sullied perfectly good clothing.
They are like locusts; destroying and moving on.
Did they get gold crowns on their teeth?
How come blacks don’t give a damn when blacks kill each other day in and day out?
Or why don’t they care when blacks kill and attack whites? Because they are big fat racists.
words fail me...
If this is where we are headed, Please let me off the Crazy Train!
