Good. You listen to altered evidence. I won’t.

Yaelle, in your post #84 you said this about Rick:
"He will have to walk it back. Sigh."
My question to you was: Just how does one "walk this back"?
Where--in Rick's vile statements about Zimmerman, a man on whose head is a "DEAD OR ALIVE" bounty (from a violent group)--can Rick "unring the bell" of the now escalated real DANGER to Zimmerman's LIFE?
Rick has now caused Zimmerman's very life to be at stake even more.
Rick knew of the deadly bounty...
yet he knowingly proceded to fuel the FLAMES of the lynch crowd's torches.

It is quite disappointing to see Santorum stating that a Neighborhood Watch LEO would have a sick mind simply for protecting the property in his patrol sector. LEO? Since when?
To: parksstp
Santorum gave an OPINION, which last I checked is a free speech thing.Yes, but his opinion says a lot about him. He's evidently willing to judge the case before the police have even completed the investigation. That's not wise.
A prominent politician should say some kind words for the victim's family, mention that he has trust in our legal system, and move on to something else. This showed poor judgement and citing the First Amendment doesn't change that.

I think a number of people are splitting hairs on facts they don’t know.
NW people are not LEO’s and the LEO’s that do come to the meetings - at least around here - stress that point to the individuals. And nowhere do they state that a person arms themselves before going out. Because without a CCW permit the observer would then be breaking the law.
But with a CCW permit - the LEO’s do not state you have to disarm before going out.
I’m not digging on you but this story have taking on a life of it’s own with most stories containing a little fact that gets stretched into every which way to prove somebodies point.

Where is the "wiggle room" in walking back statements that have heightened the real danger of DEATH to a person? Regardless of Zimmerman's guilt or inocence.

This is all a distraction. Nothing more than a run of the mill tragic murder that makes Nancy Grace and cop shows.

All I hear is the f word.
Anyway, what a bunch of nonsense all this is, but I am not surprised. I knew when thought (hate) crime legislation was first introduced, this is where we would end up. Or maybe the worst is yet to come.

Note to Rick Santorum:
Quit pandering to them. They still won't vote for you

Why does Santorum make such stupid statements? This is about as idiotic as his claim that you might as well vote for Obama as Romney. I am far from a Romney fan, but at least if he is elected and the GOP takes the Senate and holds the House, we can get rid of the anti-energy production policies of this administration and bury Obamacare.
I want to support Santorum as the viable opponent against Romney, but his stupid statements make me question his viability in the general election.

Did the kid have a criminal background with a history of robbery or drugs? Did the shooter have a criminal background? No one disputes the kid was unarmed. This looks like an unjustified shooting, and you can't avoid it. Everybody hates the race hustlers. And shootings in minority neighborhoods happen in the bushels everyday across this country and go completely unnoticed. So the undue attention on this particular one is hypocritical. Still, it looks unwarranted, so what can you say. Santorum is calling as he sees it. You may not like it, but he has the guts to say what he thinks.

Riots, boycotts, threats... The left and/or blacks have used all three, and more, to pressure America for decades. The schools, the media, the foundations, the government - ALL have been taken over by the mob, which care more for groups than individuals.

The facts are not all in, but IF they were fighting over the weapon, would you still say the shooting was unjustified?
To: expat1000
I’d guess Rick would classify this as a ‘taking one for the team’ moment. He’s just another ‘etch-a-sketch’ candidate.

If the guy had never confronted him but had backed off like the 911 operator had advised him, would they have been fighting over the weapon? We all want to protect our property, but sometimes these police wannabe’s are probably more trouble than they're worth. I use to see the mentality when I was in the military. Suddenly the guy with one more stripe than you have is in charge of the world. Many times the people that are the most prone to misuse authority are the ones most anxious to have it.

If the guy had never confronted him..Listen to the tape. Zimmerman says "He is coming to over to check me out "(or words to that effect).
But this is getting us nowhere. Yes, he (Rick) is gutsy - also foolhardy and a loose cannon, IMO.
For the 3rd and last time, my biggest concern was not so much what he said, although it was a huge gaffe, but his shocking inability to articulate his position convincing. I think his chances against Obama are very poor.

I think that economic conservatives are big Newt supporters and social ones aren’t.
Romney is the second choice of many of the economic conservatives.
Newt’s dropping out will push Romney’s numbers and delegates up.

The 911 operator told him to stop following him. It sounds like he didn’t listen. I imagine if somebody started following me through a neighborhood, I would go over and talk to them too.

My past experience with Rick is that he’s a supporter of the GOP Establishment and GOP Machine here in PA and beyond.
I think his powered up rhetoric (he never spoke this way as a senator from Pennsylvania) is designed to suck up media attention and conservative support so Newt can’t get it.
