Civil-rights activist the Rev. Jesse Jackson took the microphone shortly before noon today at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Eatonville and pronounced slain teen-ager Trayvon Martin to be a martyr.
"Martyrs have power," Jackson said near the end of his hour-long sermon. "He represents all of us."
Dressed in a dark gray suit and blue tie, Jackson began his address with a chant: "Stop the violence. Save the Children. Keep hope alive!"
"How do we go from a moment to a movement that creates fundamental change," Jackson asked the capacity crowd, estimated at 1,600 people. "If it's a moment, we go home. If it's a movement, we go to war. Movements are made of serious substance there is power in the blood of the innocent." ....
George Zimmerman, a volunteer Neighborhood Watch captain in the community, told police he shot the teen in self-defense.
But Jackson told the crowd at the church, "Zimmerman told police he had killed him. Shot him in the back of the head in self-defense."
His remark conflicts with previously published information. According to sources close to the investigation, the teen-ager was shot once in the chest.
Jackson, who marched with Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.in Alabama in the 1960s, referred to Zimmerman's claim to police that the teen-ager, who was wearing a hoodie, looked suspicious to him.
"We focus on kids wearing hoods. You know the people who started wearing hoods," Jackson said, referring to the Ku Klux Klan. "Whether you are wearing a hood or a sheet, nobody has the right to kill anybody."

''There is nothing more painful for me at this stage in my life,'' Jesse Jackson said several years ago, ''than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery -- and then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.''
Jesse - just trying to stay relevant. What a tired act.
Apparently there is an anonymous donor who was willing to pony up the great reverend’s massive appearance fee. Meanwhile, in his own backyard, 10 blacks are murdered by other blacks, 30 wounded, including toddlers.
No money, no Jesse.
Contrast that to an agitating race terrorist.
Whatever it takes to excite violence and looting, and maybe get more people killed. Leftist hate mongers love this crap.

Once a jive-turkey, always a jive-turkey.
Eat BBQ, Jesse!
One more.. rape often warrants the same punishment as murder -- so what about rape crime statistics, Hoodie Jackson? Or at least stop taking advantage of the crisis and let our law work -- at least in this case.
(My emphasis)Rape in the United States I often wondered about this.
"The U.S. Department of Justice compiles statistics on crime by race, but only between and among people categorized as black or white. In 2005 there were 111,490 white and 36,620 black victims of rape or sexual assault. In 2005, out of the 111,490 cases involving white victims, 44.5% had white offenders and 33.6% had black offenders, while the 36,620 black victims had a figure of 100% black offenders, numbers of white offenders were estimated to be negligible (extrapolated from a sample size of fewer than 10 instances)."
Though wiki is sometimes wiki graffiti it appears that the above is documented unless I misread this DoJ document that apparently the Obama/Holder Dept. of Just Us has not yet erased See Percent distribution of single-offender victimizations, based on race of victims, by type of crime and perceived race of offender.
How’s the new baby doing, JJ ?
Got a picture in your wallet you want to show ?
There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs, partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. Booker T. Washington 1904 quote
I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.
That picture has been removed. So has most of the stuff on his “MySpace”.
I would have much more respect for Jackson if would head on down to the South Side, and march and urge people to “stop the violence, save the children” down there.
There is a pandemic of violence in the ghetto, which “black leaders” ignore. They take this one incident, blow it all out of proportion, and then the liberals take it and extrapolate from it that America is racist, and has not changed at all from the days of Emmitt Till.
Jesse Jackson also was going to give the girl in the Duke lacrosse case a college scholarship, because she was a victim and all that. I wonder if he ever followed through. She is in jail facing murder charges the last I heard. She was such a poor innocent victim of those lacrosse boys, according to the liberal narrative in that case.
jesse continues to be a racist, race-baiting liar and fool. Shouldn’t he be in a jail cell for all the money he has extorted from businesses? The tool is truely a waste of skin.
Wondered how the administration was going to get the mobs into the streets in time for the election. Now we know. Going to be a long hot summer. Very sad.
“No money, no Jesse.”
No camera, no Jesse either. Or Sharpton for that matter.

Are the race card amplifiers (aka national/Florida media) there, too, fawning over his every word?
