And JoePa had NO indication of anything going on in ‘98 when he told Sandusky he was NEVER going to be head coach, and Sandusky summarily resigned?
Yeah, JoePa knew nothing, JoePa was never contacted during the ‘98 investigation of Sandusky raping a boy IN THE PENN STATE FOOTBALL FACILITIES!!!!
What a crock. The JoePa apologists are mentally deranged. My roots are in central PA, and to listen to folks bending over backwards to defend JoePa makes me sick.
Sandusky could have gotten a head coaching gig at any school he wanted, yet no school would touch him......why was that?
The facts are worse than that. Paterno met with Sandusky in May 1999 and Sandusky announced his retirement on July 1, 1999 effective at the end of the 1999 season.
The police report referenced in this article is dated May 1998. That means that Sandusky coached two season after this report, one of those seasons after announcing his retirement. And for those two seasons, he was allowed to bring a boy with him to the team's official pre-game overnights at Toftree's golf resort and conference center, where Sandusky and the boy sat at the coaches' table for the pregame banquets. According to the grand jury presentment, Sandusky sexually abused his overnight guest (Victim #6 during the 1999 season) at Toftree's, during those team overnights.
And Sandusky was permitted to bring a boy with him to both the 1998 Outback Bowl and the 1999 Alamo Bowl, after this report. According to the grand jury presentment, Sandusky sexually abused Victim #6 in San Antonio when he accompanied Sandusky to the Alamo Bowl.
