With his conservative credentials still taking fire over Etch A Sketchgate, Mitt Romney is facing a new potential obstacle to his argument that he is unfailingly a Republican.
A 2002 clip, posted Friday on BuzzFeed, shows then-Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Romney declaring that his only connection to the Republican Party in the state is that Im registered as a Republican.

If you and I cant disagree without you suggesting I opus my Romney-lovin ass right on outta here, then what is there left for you to discuss if everyone here is a Newt-lover?
Go back upthread and read that post from JimRob back in November. He made it abundantly clear that Romney supporters are NOT welcome here, because Romney is NOT a conservative, he is a liberal that ran from any association with the Reagan years, does it not occur to you that if we are guests in Jim's house, and he says (for example) "no smoking in this house", that it is not only rude as Hell but disrespectful as well to light one up?
You want to promote Romney, this ain't the website to proclaim your support while slashing and trashing the candidate who our host HAS stated is worthy of the support of Free Republic. I agree with that stand. You do not. The choice should be clear for you:
Maybe we can share a room when Newt colonizes the moon.
You're out of luck. I'm not queer. But I'm sure you can find some Massachusetts homos who appreciate what Mitt did for them with his 'pride day proclamation' and they'll be happy to share accomodations with you.

If you want to sing Willard’s praises here
At least wait till after the convention if we are unlucky enough to be saddled with this POS for a candidate. Then at least it will be “anybody but zer0bama” time again ( reference Juan McCain 2008)

You want to promote Romney, this ain’t the website to proclaim your support while slashing and trashing the candidate who our host HAS stated is worthy of the support of Free Republic. I agree with that stand. You do not. The choice should be clear for you: GTF out.
I am not slashing and trashing other candidates, I merely pointed out some of the discrepancies in their conservative credentials, as you had with MItt.
Telling me to “GTF out”. Now that’s a great solution to someone you disagree with.
Suggesting we “share a room on Newt’s moon colony was sarcasm, apparently lost on you.
To: Sir Clancelot
'sarcasm', that's what you say now, I think you're a unrepentant booty bandit.
I'll bet you got one of these things for every member of your family:

"Were screwed with Romney. Gingrich is the only one that has a chance. And hes a long shot with all the fodder about him.
Plus his wife looks like an ice queen and she doesnt come across as likeable. She needs to mess her hair up a little bit."
i'm sure she's a nice person, but I agree with you. She looks like a 'stiff'. It's bad enough that she's a visiible, constant reminder of Newt's baggage, but if she could portray some warmth & looking like most normal women do instead of like a 'helmet head', it would help Newt a lot!
I'm still with Newt because he's got the ability to do again what he did as Speaker & we need someone like that to put this country back on track.
Santorum never ran anything & would be lost as president. He is not a leader.

Romney sooo reminds me of a cheap trick, wild Bill used car sales guy. LOL, my son-in-law is a used car salesman and his name is Bill!.............but he's no Romney, by any measure! His arsenal in his gun cabinet will attest to that!.............

I largely agree with your analysis, though I see a larger window for Santorum than you. But assuming you are correct, Romney is slightly less socialist than Obama, but compared to any Constitutional conservative, he isn't worth a hill of beans. I'd rather have the enemy on the line in front of us all, than the one hiding in our uniform at our back. Going into a brokered convention with Romney so damaged he cannot possibly win is enough success for me. I'll worry about who the sidelines candidates are on that day. For now, I'm pleased to support Santorum who has the momentum. And if Gingrich obtains some momentum I'm willing to support him as well. Bottom line, the only existing candidate that is guaranteed to throw this election to Obama is Romney. If he becomes the nominee, we have already lost. And therefore, if for no other reason, "anything but Obama" precludes me from supporting him. No Romney, no way.

"If we can win both houses, and Romney picks a decent VP, I would vote for him." Well, we'd have to be talkin' about one charming mother$#@!in' VP. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Coolidge back in the 20s, you know what I'm sayin'?
